Hi Hivean design and architecture, how are you all? Hope you guys are fine.
This time I will invite you to see an entry of mine that may be very interesting to study. This is a building in the 1400 AD Century. This building is a surau in the past which was used as a place of worship for Muslims. This building was also used as a meeting place for fellow Islamic leaders from abroad.
It is located in Sigli, Aceh, Indonesia, in a coastal village called Gigieng Pulo Gang. This building was erected by a merchant from Gujarat Hindi. Who at that time brought the message of Islam to the peninsula of the Malacca Strait, to be precise in Aceh. This building is a place of unity for Muslims around the world who come to Aceh. This is where all Muslims gather to meet.
Even though it's been centuries this building still stands strong because it was built and made with solid wood, and is very durable. The pillars in the building are all built with wood, wooden walls, and a few renovations on the facade that have been made of concrete. While in the old room there is concrete, and ceramics as the floor. While the other is wood. And coupled with sculpture that can beautify the building.
Historically, this building was built on the basis of uniting Muslims. And evidence of that history, there is an ancient tombstone with architectural designs from the Middle East. This gravestone belongs to Tgk Syik Gujarat Hindi who is none other than the founder of the surau. Once upon a time this building was one of the most magnificent. And you can see in my photo some pictures of tombstones. This headstone was specially designed as a tribute to the founder, and was made by order of the kingdom. This headstone is made of stone, and is carved with sculpture, symbolizing flowers.
This gravestone is also a silent witness that at that time was the heyday. Almost on average the tombstones of important figures are made with carved headstones and stone bodies. This gravestone is very sturdy and stands tall soaring into the sky.
