Greetings!
It is nice to be back! This blog is a little bit personal because an event reminds me that life is full of surprises. The event that happened never came into my mind nor I ever thought of happening (not even my wild imagination could entertain such an event). That event leads me to build a bamboo that in the coming months will be my family's home.
But just this month I realized that I have been praying (for a long time) for a house, a vehicle, and a business. The vehicle arrived first in the form of a scooter. Then after a year, came the house, in the form of the bamboo house that I am about to introduce in this blog. I also realized that I should have also prayed for farmland.
Those things that I have been praying for a long time have been a long time in the making, way back more than 5 years ago when the second of my two children was born. They were my prayers every night before going to sleep for more than five years. I am very thankful that two of them were finally answered, the vehicle, and the house and I am confident that the business is finally peeking on the horizon. Here is the link when I blogged about the vehicle.
So, without further ado, here are the exact dates while I am building the bamboo house.
It started on April 11, 2023, when I cleaned a concrete pavement where a house once stood (check the photo below). I think and as far as I remember it took me less than a day just to clean the whole pavement. It was a very sweaty day since the month of April is when the summer comes in.

On April 24, 2023, I borrowed a brush cutter from one of my relatives for faster trimming of grasses around the pavement. I think it only took me less than an hour to completely trim all the grasses near the concrete pavement. After that, I let the trimmed grasses dry so that I could burn them. (Check the photo below)

Then on the morning of April 27, 2023, before sunrise, I woke up early so that I could burn all the dry grass. Here in our town burning grasses is popularly done in the morning and before sunset. Burning the dried grasses took only less than 30 minutes since they are all very dry and also with the help of wind. (See photo below)

On May 14, 2023, I was finally able to finish the skeleton of my bamboo house (see photo below). As you can see in the foreground there are lots of bamboo. I took all the bamboo on the bamboo trees that were planted by my father when I was young. Those bamboo trees are a legacy of my father (you cannot find lots of bamboo trees in our bamboo except the ones that my father planted in the 1980s).

On May 18, 2023, I was able to get a loan from my youngest sister which I used to buy 17 pieces of galvanized iron sheets (10 feet in length and 32 inches in width). (See photo below). As you can see on the left side of the roof it is a little bit raised, it is because of the bamboo that was used in the side. Also, on that same day, we started to make the walls of the bamboo house (notice the standing bamboo on the inside?).

On May 29, 2023, the walls, doors, and windows of the bamboo were finished.

Finally, on June 6, 2023, building the bamboo house is done (check the two photos below).
