Hello dear community, lovers of architecture and design, as you know I am a nature lover and the world is full of great places that made the great architect for our enjoyment, these places catch me, no doubt mother earth is the best work of art, but there are also architectures that very well planned with nature make us feel that balance with their environment, which for me is key in the art of architecture. These are the works that seem to have always been there as they become part of everything that surrounds them.
Plaza Altamira was designed by the Venezuelan architect Arthur Kahn, it was built in 5 years, it started in 1940 and was inaugurated in 1945, its name was changed in 1967 after an agreement between France and Venezuela, where it was agreed to have a Plaza Francia in Caracas and a Plaza Venezuela in Paris, it was born as an extension of the great Altamira urbanization planned by Luis Roche who had the desire to have a great monumental square that came out from the Altamira Building.
This beautiful square is an icon of the City of Caracas, it is located in the state of Miranda, in the area called Altamira which belongs to the Chacao Municipality, it is part of the Capital District, also called Gran Caracas, right at the exit of the Altamira Metro station and one of the largest main avenues of the city.
The Plaza Altamira is an architectural beauty hosted by the greatness of the mountain that naturally protects the city of Caracas, called by my ancestors of the original Carib Ethnic Waraira Repano and also known as El Avila hill.

We went during the blue hour to capture the fountain colors of the Obelisk so I took a few pictures to share with you.

The most attractive details for me are the shapes of the spaces, each area was planned for a comfortable use for a real enjoyment and pleasure, each path or stairs lead you to the Obelis, surrounding the water mirrors where the Obelisk is reflected a mirror that meets the waterfall created towards the entrance of the subway transportation, This was not there initially but with the construction of the subway in the 80's it was built and incorporated to the Plaza the entrance of the Altamira Subway Station, extending even more its beauty and taking care of its architecture.
The Obelisk is the most emblematic icon of the Plaza, it is 45 meters high, it is currently dressed in the colors of the national flag, the vibrant yellow, blue and red colors make it look more beautiful, very striking and represent the Venezuelan national sentiment.
It has beautiful sculptural details from the base which is a fountain, that in this ocaction we find it turned off until the base from where the Obelisk comes out, which has a beautiful sculpted Lion, I guess representing the full name of the old City of "Santiago de Leon de Caracas".
The square is full of trees, shrubs that give more color and shape to the flowers and aromatize the space with a landscaping that enhances even more its beauty and although we are in dry season makes the visit more pleasant along with the sound of the waterfall and the beauty of the architecture and the grandeur of the mountain.
This sculpture is by the French artist Bernard Pages who was responsible for making a work to be placed in the Plaza Altamira and introduced this sculpture with iron beams, while in the Plaza Venezuela located in Paris the Venezuelan intervention was by Carlos Cruz Diez.

The Plaza Francia is undoubtedly a reference in the architecture of the city, the vision of the spaces and the environment make it a place to enjoy, it is a beautiful space in Caracas that is worth visiting to enjoy and admire its beauty in the middle of the city.

Hola querida comunidad, amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, como saben soy amante de la naturaleza y el mundo esta lleno de lugares grandioso que hizo el gran arquitecto para nuestro disfrute, estos lugares me atrapan, sin duda la madre tierra es la mejor obra de arte, pero también hay arquitecturas que muy bien planificadas junto que la naturaleza nos hacen sentir ese equilibrios con su con su entorno, que para mi es clave en el arte de la arquitectura. Son estas las obras que parecen siembre a ver estado allí al hacerse parte de todo los que los rodea.
Plaza Altamira fue diseña por el arquitecto Venezolano Arthur Kahnse construyo en 5 años, se inicio 1940 y se inauguro 1945, su nombre fue cambio en 1967 luego de un convenio entre Francia y Venezuela, donde se acordó tener una Plaza Francia en Caracas y una Plaza Venezuela en Paris.Esta nace como una extensión de la gran urbanización Altamira planificada por Luis Roche que tenia el deseo de tener una gran plaza momumental que saliera desde el Edificio Altamira.
Esta hermosa plaza es un icono del la Ciudad de Caracas, se encuentra en el estado Miranda, en la zona llamada Altamira que pertenece al Municipio Chacao, es parte del Distrito Capital, también llamado la Gran Caracas, justo en la salida de la estación del Metro de Altamira y una de las avenida principales mas grandes de la ciudad.
La Plaza Altamira una belleza arquitectonica acogida por la grandesa de la montaña que protege naturalmente la ciudad de Caracas, llamada por mis antepasados originarios de las Etnias Caribes Waraira Repano y también conocido como El cerro el Avila.

Los detalles mas atractivos para mi son las formas de los espacios cada area fue planificada para un uso comodo para un real gozo y disfrute, cada camino o escalera te guián al Obelis, rodeando los espejo de agua donde se refleja el Obelisco un espejo que se reunen junto a la cascada creada hacia la entrada del trasporte subterranio, esta no estaba allí inicialmente pero con la construcción del metro en la decada de los años 80 se construyo y se incorporando a la Plaza la entrada de la Estación del Metro de Altamira, extendiendo aun mas su belleza y cuidando su arquitectura.
El Obelisco es el icono mas emblematico de la Plaza, este tiene 45 metros de altura, este actualmente se viste de los colores de la bandera nacional, los vibrantes colores amarillo , azul y rojo lo hacen lucir mas hermoso, muy llamativos y representan en los Venezolanos el sentimiento nacional.
Tiene hermosos detalles esculturales desde la base que es una fuente, que en esta ocacción la encontramos apagada hasta la base de donde sale el Obelisco , que tiene un hermoso Leon esculpido, supongo que representando el nombre completo dela antigua Cuidad de "Santiago de Leon de Caracas".
La Plaza esta llena de arboles , arbustos que dan mas forma color y flores a vivan y aromatizan el espacio con una paisajismo que realza aun mas su belleza y aunque estamos en temporada de sequia hace mas agradable la visita junto al sonido de la cascada y la belleza de l arquitectura y la grandeza del la montaña.
Esta escultura es del artista frances Bernard Pages quien fue el responsable de hacer una obra para ser colocada en la Plaza Altamira e introdujo esta escultura con vigas de hierro, mientras que en la Plaza Venezuela ubicada en Paris la intervención venezolana fue de Carlos Cruz Diez.

La Plaza Francia es sin duda un referente de en la Arquitectura de la ciudad, la vision de los espacios el entorno hacen que sea un lugar para el disfrute, es un espacio hermoso de Caracas que vale la pena visitar para disfrutar y admirar su belleza en medio de la cuidad.
