I was walking through the streets of my city, in the company of my sweet son, looking for a place to eat, because there were some errands to do before returning home, we were on Av. 2 Lora, near the center of the city, when we discovered this beautiful pink house which I am happy to share with you today.
I was admiring it for a couple of minutes, while thinking that this house looked a lot like the house of my dreams, when suddenly my son began to insist that he wanted to enter, since he noticed a metal sculpture that caught his attention. At that moment I had no idea that I would discover a really interesting place inside.
I entered quite timidly and with a lot of curiosity, because I did not see anywhere any advertisement or information that would give me an idea of what worked here, but when I saw that several people were entering and leaving the place I relaxed and took some pictures of the outside while my son enjoyed the garden and the sculpture that for him was a robot.
Caminaba por las calles de mi ciudad, en compañía de mi dulce hijo, en busca de un lugar para comer, pues faltaban algunas diligencias por hacer antes de retornar a casa, nos encontrábamos por la Av. 2 Lora, cerca del centro de la ciudad, cuando descubrimos esta hermosa casona rosada de la cual estoy feliz de compartirles el día de hoy.
Estuve admirándola por un par de minutos, mientras pensaba que esta casa se parecía mucho a la casa de mis sueños, cuando de repente mi hijo comenzó a insistir que quería entrar, ya que observo una escultura en metal que le llamo la atención. En ese momento yo no tenía ni idea que descubriría dentro un lugar realmente interesante.
Entré de una forma bastante tímida y con mucha curiosidad, porque no vi por ningún lado algún aviso publicitario o informativo que me diera una idea de que era lo que funcionaba aquí, pero al ver que varias personas entraban y salían del lugar me relaje y tome algunas fotografías del exterior mientras mi hijo disfrutaba del jardín y de la escultura que para él era un robot.
Garden of the Casona Rosada / Jardín de la Casona Rosada
The garden is beautiful, here I found cayenne trees and these two species that you see in the photos, whose name I do not know, but they give a very harmonious view to the place and together enhance the beauty of its facade.
The pink color of its walls is quite striking and forms a beautiful contrast with the blue sky, which this day looked beautiful. The façade is formed by a projecting corridor with an arch covered in stone and a roof covered in Creole tile.
On the second floor, we find two intercepted roofs, both gabled and a series of windows that create a very nice visual effect, especially those three elongated windows that culminate in an arch. In addition to frames with simple and delicate decorative details that makes an interesting play of reliefs.
I really liked the combination of the stone cladding, with the smooth finish of the walls in pink and the window frames and grilles in white.
El jardín es precioso, aquí encontré cayenas y estas dos especies que observan en las fotos, cuyo nombre desconozco, pero le dan una vista muy armoniosa al lugar y que en conjunto realzan la belleza de su fachada.
El color rosado, de sus paredes, es bastante llamativo y forma un contraste hermoso con el azul del cielo, que este día se veía precioso. La fachada está formada por un corredor saliente con un arco revestido en piedra y techo cubierto en teja criolla.
En su segunda planta, encontramos dos techos interceptados entre sí, ambos a dos aguas y una serie de ventanas que crea un efecto visual muy agradable, especialmente esas tres ventanas alargadas que culminan en arco. Además de marcos con detalles decorativos sencillos y delicados que hace un juego de relieves interesante.
Me gustó mucho la combinación del revestimiento en piedra, con el acabado liso de las paredes en rosado y los marcos y rejas de las ventanas en blanco.
Main facade / Fachada Principal
Upon entering I found a very interesting place as I mentioned, because this old residential house now gives life to the Cacao Cultural Center, a comforting place where you can enjoy an art gallery, practice yoga and other holistic activities, enjoy the world of cocoa, chocolate and a cuisine that promotes care in food and invites us to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The distribution of its plant consists of an elongated corridor in the middle of rooms where now operate a massage and tattoo center, cream-colored walls that blends well with its wooden doors and ceramic floor in brown tones. At the end of the hallway, we find another arched entrance, just like the house I design in my dreams.
Along its walls we find an exhibition of paintings from the art gallery called Argos and also a series of sculptures, made with recycled materials. In the following photographs you can see a sample of these works of art. As far as I understood, the rest of the gallery is located on the upper floor, to which we ascend through a concrete staircase with a landing in between, but I did not access this area due to lack of time.
Al entrar encontré un sitio bastante interesante como les mencione, pues esta antigua casona residencial ahora le da vida al Centro Cultural Cacao, un reconfortante lugar donde puedes disfrutar de una galería de arte, practicar yoga y otras actividades holísticas, disfrutar del mundo del cacao, el chocolate y de una gastronomía que promueve el cuidado en la alimentación y nos invita a llevar un estilo de vida saludable.
La distribución de su planta consta de un alargado pasillo en medio de habitaciones donde ahora funcionan un centro de masajes y de tatuajes, paredes en color crema que combina bien con sus puertas en madera y su piso de cerámica en tonos marrones. Al final del pasillo, encontramos otra entrada en arco, tal cual como la casa que diseño en mis sueños.
A lo largo de sus paredes encontramos una muestra de la exposición de pinturas de la galería de arte llamada Argos y también una serie de esculturas, realizadas con materiales de reciclaje. En las siguientes fotografías podrán observar una muestra de estas obras de arte. Por lo que entendí en la planta alta, a la cual ascendemos a través de unas escaleras en concreto con descanso intermedio, funciona el resto de la galería, pero no accedí a esta área por falta de tiempo.

At the back we found a small restaurant and in what used to be the backyard of the mansion now serves as the reception of the restaurant and the chocolate shop. It is quite nice, it makes you feel at home while you spend a pleasant time enjoying a healthy meal or a delicious chocolate bonbon. They also host personal growth conferences and offer chocolate workshops.
The floor in this area is covered in caico, which gives it a more rustic style, where you can also continue to enjoy art. This environment is illuminated by natural light, thanks to the skylight that is supported by continuous steel trusses.
Al fondo encontramos un pequeño restaurante y en lo que era el patio trasero de la casona funciona ahora la recepción del restaurante y de la chocolatería. Es bastante agradable, te hace sentir en casa mientras pasas un rato ameno disfrutando de una comida saludable o un rico bombón de chocolate. También aquí se realizan conferencias de crecimiento personal y ofrecen talleres de chocolatería.
El piso en esta área está revestido en caico, lo que le da un estilo más rústico, donde también se puede seguir disfrutando del arte. Este ambiente está iluminado por luz natural, gracias a la claraboya que se encuentra soportada en continuas cerchas de acero.

Another thing that caught my attention was the design of their furniture, all with a different style, we found some for two people that I liked a lot, consisting of high chairs, built in iron and a round wooden table, ideal for enjoying a nice drink.
Otra de las cosas que me llamo la atención, fue el diseño de sus muebles, todos con un estilo diferente, encontramos algunos destinados para dos personas que me gustaron bastante, compuestos por sillas altas, construidas en hierro y una mesa redonda en madera, ideal para disfrutar de una rica bebida.

Others for four or six people, with a more stylized design, I liked that the back of their chairs made a geometric contrast, some with subtle curves and others with elongated rectangles and squares. All in wood with padded leather cushions and square wooden tables supported by metal tubes.
Otros para cuatro o seis personas, con un diseño más estilizado, me gusto que el espaldar de sus sillas hicieran un contraste geométrico, entre ellas algunos con sutiles curvas y otras con rectángulos alargados y cuadrados. Todas en madera con cojines acolchados en cuero y mesas cuadradas en madera apoyadas en tubos de metal.

I really enjoyed discovering this place and I will definitely come back, here I enjoyed a delicious lunch with my son, which I will tell you about in a future post on my blog. If you ever find yourself on Av. 2 Lora, at the Glorias Patrias Sector, in the city of Merida, do not hesitate to visit the Casona Rosada.
