Happy start of the week to all, may your goals and objectives be achieved successfully, with lots of health and the best possible energy. I am very happy to greet you and share with you a little more of the architecture of Ejido, Merida, Venezuela.
If we observe in detail our surroundings, we can discover the evolution of the cities with the passing of time, thanks to the architectural traces, which by themselves tell us about history. Ejido is proof of this, little by little, it was no longer a large sugar cane plantation, but a small city. The streets of Montalban, adorn us with beautiful homes where it seems that time stood still, in colonial times, and the same happens if we approach the Square Bolivar, where we can admire from colonial houses, to shopping centers of contemporary architecture.
Today I invite you to know some residential buildings, those buildings that make a beautiful contrast with the colonial architecture and that marked the passage to modern architecture.
Feliz inicio de semana para todos, que sus metas y objetivos sean logrados con éxito, con mucha salud y la mejor energía posible. Estoy muy feliz de saludarlos y compartir con ustedes un poco más de la arquitectura de Ejido, Mérida, Venezuela.
Si observamos con detalle nuestro alrededor, podemos descubrir la evolución de las ciudades con el paso del tiempo, gracias a las huellas arquitectónicas, que por sí solas nos habla de historia. Ejido, es una prueba de ello, poco a poco, fue dejando de ser esa gran hacienda de caña de azúcar, para convertirse en una pequeña ciudad. Las calles de Montalbán, nos engalanan con bellas viviendas donde pareciera que el tiempo se detuvo, en la época colonial, y lo mismo pasa si nos acercamos a la Plaza Bolívar, donde podemos admirar desde casas coloniales, hasta centros comerciales de la arquitectura contemporánea.
Hoy los invito a conocer algunos edificios residenciales, esos edificios que hacen un contraste hermoso con la arquitectura colonial y que marcaron el paso a la arquitectura moderna.
I decided to take a walk this Sunday, in the company of my little son, the morning was beautiful, the view was incredible, I like those clear days, where I can admire the huge mountains surrounding Ejido. I started the tour in a sector called the Carmen, very close to home, its streets would take me to one of the first residential buildings we found, I do not know when they were built, but they must be one of the oldest residences.
The Residencies the Tepuy, consists of a series of buildings, of seven floors, in Merida, we do not usually find buildings so high, I believe that the engineering has been very conservationist in this sense. As we see it is a building with simple lines and simple facades, where we find the elevated tank on the upper level, a very common feature of the buildings of the 60s.
Decidí dar un paseo este domingo, en compañía de mi pequeño hijo, la mañana estaba preciosa, la vista era increíble, me gustan esos días despejados, donde puedo admirar las enormes montañas que rodean a Ejido. Comencé el recorrido por un sector llamado el Carmen, muy cerca de casa, sus calles me llevarían, a uno de los primeros edificios residenciales que encontramos, desconozco cuando fueron construidos, pero deben ser una de las residencias más antiguas.
Las Residencias el Tepuy, consta de una serie de edificios, de siete pisos, en Mérida, no solemos encontrar edificios tan altos, creo que la ingeniería ha sido muy conservacionista en este sentido. Como vemos es un edificio con líneas simples y fachadas sencillas, donde encontramos el tanque elevado, en el nivel superior, una característica muy común de las edificaciones de los 60.
And across the street we have another residential building, quite emblematic, which has become a landmark, it is the residences, the "Tinajero". Another contemporary building, nine floors, with a simple facade, but quite beautiful, especially for those spaces that protrude, forming a cross plant, I really like its rounded edges and the color of its walls, that shade of blue combined with ivory gives a lot of serenity and freshness to the building.
Y al frente tenemos otro edificio residencial, bastante emblemático, que se ha convertido en un punto de referencia, se trata de las residencias, el “Tinajero”. Otro edificio contemporáneo, de nueve plantas, con una fachada sencilla, pero bastante bonita, especialmente por esos espacios que sobresalen, formando una planta en cruz, me gustan mucho sus bordes redondeados y el color de sus paredes, ese tono de azul combinado con el marfil le da mucha serenidad y frescura al edificio.
We continue walking approximately five or six blocks, until we reach the Agusto Rodrigues Road Junction, which connects the Montalbán Sector with Centenario Avenue, here we find three urbanizations that are some more recent buildings, they must be between 10 and 15 years old approximately, I do not remember very well, on the left side we have The Pradera Residences and on the right side The Altamira Residences.
These buildings are clad with terracotta colored shingles, a type of cladding that we usually see a lot all over the State and that I think combines very well with the environment. This is a beautiful residence, with decorative details in concrete on its main façade, protruding with curves, in what I think is the stair core and with gabled tile roofs, roofs very used in the Andean zone.
Although at first glance it seems to be two twin residences, they have some differences in their designs, but they maintain the same criteria and the same type of materials.
Seguimos caminando aproximadamente unas cinco o seis cuadras, hasta que llegamos al Enlace Vial Agusto Rodrigues, que comunica el Sector Montalbán con la Av. Centenario, aquí encontramos tres urbanizaciones que son algunas edificaciones más recientes, deben tener entre 10 y 15 años aproximadamente, no recuerdo muy bien, del lado izquierdo tenemos Las Residencias Pradera y del lado derecho Las Residencias Altamira.
Estos edificios están revestidos con tablillas en color terracota, un tipo de revestimiento que solemos ver mucho en todo el Estado y que creo combina muy bien con el entorno. Esta es una residencia hermosa, con detalles decorativos en concreto en su fachada principal, sobresalientes con curvas, en lo que pienso es el núcleo de escaleras y con techos en teja a dos aguas, cubiertas muy usadas en la zona andina.
Aunque a simple vista pareciera ser dos residencias gemelas, tienen algunas diferencias en sus diseños, pero mantienen el mismo criterio y el mismo tipo de materiales.
Next to the Pradera buildings, we find the AltaVista Residences, one of my favorites, maybe it is the simplicity of its lines, its color or the layout of its buildings, but something about them makes me like them a lot.
This building, with 7 ivory-colored floors, is formed by four wings joined by the stair core that culminates with the machine room. It is a simple design, I could say minimalist, but it stands out very well and catches looks, at least mine.
This residential area is a very nice and quiet place to live with a wonderful view. Can you imagine waking up every morning, leaning out the window and seeing these landscapes, while having your first cup of coffee.
Al lado de los edificios La Pradera, encontramos las Residencias AltaVista, uno de mis favoritos, tal vez sea lo sencillo de sus líneas, su color o la disposición de sus edificios, pero algo en ellos hace que me gusten mucho.
Este edificio, de 7 pisos de color marfil, está formado por cuatro alas unidas por el núcleo de escaleras que culmina con la sala de máquinas. Es un diseño sencillo, podría decir minimalista, pero que destaca muy bien y atrapa miradas, al menos la mía.
Esta zona residencial es un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo para vivir con una vista maravillosa. ¿Te imaginas despertar cada mañana, asomarte a la ventana y ver estos paisajes, mientras tomas tu primera taza de café?.
And here is the end of today's walk through Ejido, at this point my son was already tired and it was time to go home. There is still much to show of this area of my city. Hoping that at some point you will have the opportunity to walk its streets and enjoy the great sugar cane hacienda that became a city.
Y aquí culminamos el paseo por Ejido, del día de hoy, en este punto mi hijo estaba ya cansado y era hora de volver a casa. Aún queda mucho que mostrar de esta zona de mi ciudad. Esperando que en algún momento tengan la oportunidad de recorrer sus calles y disfrutar de la gran hacienda de caña de azúcar que se convirtió en ciudad.
