A few days ago I was visiting the city of Caracas, a place full of buildings that I don't normally see in my city, which is much smaller and the biggest building is 5 stories or something like that.

So, when I arrived in this city I started taking pictures everywhere, of every building and structure that crossed my path.

Hace unos días estuve de visita por la ciudad de Caracas, un lugar repleto de edificios que normalmente no veo en mi ciudad, que es mucho más pequeña y el edificio más grande tiene 5 pisos o algo así.

Por eso, cuando llegué a esta ciudad comencé a tomar fotos por todos lados, a cuanto edificio e estructura se atravesó por mi camino.

However, there was something quite interesting that caught my attention and it was the decorations that were in one of the streets of the city.

Although the street can not be appreciated very well because of the large number of people who pass through it, during the night you can see certain interesting details of its design, things that during the day are not appreciated because of what I explained...

Sin embargo, hubo algo bastante interesante que llamó mi atención y fueron las decoraciones que había en una de las calles de la ciudad.

Aunque la calle no se puede apreciar del todo bien por la gran cantidad de personas que la transitan, durante la noche sí se pueden ver ciertos detalles interesantes de su diseño, cosas que durante el día no se aprecian por lo que ya expliqué...

As a sculptor myself, when I look at other sculptures, I am always looking at the detail of the work, seeing things that others don't normally see, things that I know were difficult to do or that perhaps took time.

That is why, when I stopped to observe these streets, I found a whole street that crosses several areas of Caracas, such as Plaza Venezuela, Sabana Grande and Chacaito. That's what they are called.

Along this street I found beautiful sculptures that were distributed in several places.

Como escultor que soy, cuando veo otras esculturas me quedo observando el detalle de la obra, viendo cosas que normalmente otros no ven, cosas que sé que fueron difíciles de hacer o que quizás llevaron tiempo.

Por eso, cuando me detuve a observar estas calles, me encontré con toda una calle que cruza varias áreas de Caracas, como lo son Plaza Venezuela, Sabana Grande y Chacaito. Así se llaman.

A lo largo de esta calle me encontré con hermosas esculturas que estaban distribuidas por varios lugares.

It is something interesting to see, because it makes you think about what the person who built the street imagined, maybe he thought that placing these sculptures at different points would be interesting for people and I must confess that at least for me it was.

Es algo interesante de ver, porque te pone a pensar en lo que imaginó el que construyó la calle, quizás pensó que colocar estas esculturas en distintos puntos resultaría interesante para las personas y debo confesar que al menos para mi lo fue.

As I was walking along this street, I was observing every corner, every nook or every space to see if there was any sculpture there.

I was pleased to find several, like the one of the children that you can see above or the one of this man that you see below, who is sitting with a laptop on his legs (piece of the sculpture that broke).

On the other hand, in a corner of the bench you can also see the briefcase, which serves as a complement to the main sculpture.

Mientras iba caminando por toda esta calle, iba observando cada esquina, cada rincón o cada espacio para ver si había alguna escultura por allí.

Fue grato encontrarme con varias, como la de los niños que pueden ver más arriba o la de este hombre que ven abajo, el cual está sentado con una laptop en sus piernas(pieza de la escultura que se rompió).

Por otra parte, en una esquina del banquillo también pueden ver el maletín, que sirve como complemento de la escultura principal.

I find it very funny that they have decorated these streets with these sculptures, just look at what happened.

While I was focusing on this sculpture, a passerby sat down next to it and posed for my photo. I gladly captured it and now I show you the photo, which exemplifies how clever and fun it is to place certain types of art in an urban area, out in the open and accessible to the public.

Me parece muy divertido que hayan decorado estas calles con estas esculturas, solo fíjense lo que pasó.

Mientras enfocaba a esta escultura, un transeúnte se sentó al lado de esta y posó para mi foto. Yo encantado la capturé y ahora les muestro la fotografía, que ejemplifica lo inteligente y divertido que resulta colocar ciertos tipos de arte en un área urbana, así al aire libre y con acceso a todo el público.

I remember that I felt like a hunter, only my prey were these sculptures and my weapon was a camera.

As I walked along I saw a man leaning on a railing. It seemed strange to me but as I advanced I realized that yes, it was indeed another sculpture well placed in a place that looked like another person.

Recuerdo que me sentía como un cazador, solo que mi presa eran estas esculturas y mi arma una cámara.

Mientras andaba vi a un señor recostado en una baranda. Me pareció extraño pero conforme avanzaba me di cuenta de que sí, en efecto era otra escultura bien colocada en un lugar, que parecía una persona más.

It is impressive the level of detail that each sculpture has, because as I said, they look more like passersby than sculptures.

On the other hand, along the route of this street I also found sculptures just as beautiful but much more conventional. Take a look at these below:

(The one with the white pillar I don't know if it's a sculpture or something else, I don't know).

Es impresionante el nivel de detalle que tiene cada escultura, pues como dije, parecen transeúntes más que esculturas.

Por otro lado, a lo largo del recorrido de esta calle también me encontré esculturas igual de hermosas pero mucho más convencionales. Fíjense en estas que están a continuación:

(La del pilar blanco no sé si es una escultura o algo más, no lo sé)

They are certainly not as impressive as the others of people, but they adorn these streets and fill with art and life a well traveled street, also known as the Boulevard of Sabana Grande.

Ciertamente no son tan impresionantes como las otras de personas, pero adornan mucho estas calles y llenan de arte y vida una calle bien transitada, también conocida como el Boulevard de Sabana Grande.
