I have always been inspired by trains. They come, go and pass and remind me of the transience of everything, but also of returning again, to some new circumstances of life. And they are very noisy. When I was a child, I remember I would get scared every time a train arrived because of its loud sound. And when I find myself on some old railways, in addition to feeling a bit strange and nostalgic, I like to look into every corner of them because they have great historical and architectural value.
Today, trains are nostalgic for me. I recently visited Pancevo, a small town in Serbia, not far from Belgrade. It is an old town with an impressive architecture of baroque and neoclassical buildings from the 19th and 20th century.
But today I will not write about the architecture of the old buildings in this place, although there are many of them and are beautiful. I will write about the architecture and design of a cafe, located in a train.
We were walking when we chanced upon a train that caught our attention.
And then we found out that this is not only a train, but also an art gallery, opened in a green old train more than 20 years ago.
Unfortunately, the gallery was closed, but we entered the cafe.
The atmosphere was very cozy and relaxing and we loved the interior.
Wood dominated, wooden benches and tables, old pictures, a clock. At times it seems that you are not in a cafe, but traveling through time on a train.
The train is green on the outside, a very beautiful shade that attracts attention.
Especially in combination with yellow autumn leaves.
Many movies have been shot here.
The train is authentic and it was very inspiring to be on it. I was particularly impressed by the locomotive and its red wheels.
And when you think you've seen everything, the town's incredible architecture, old buildings, there's always something more, worth seeing. Museum tourist train, located on the site of an old railway on the banks of the River Tamis. Right behind the train there is a restaurant that also caught my attention in terms of architecture, because I have never seen a building modeled after windmills, but it is not a windmill. š
It's a restaurant that the locals like to go to and it's very popular. This building doesn't look as imposing in the photos as it really does, and that's why I didn't share it initially, but the photos are enough to interest you so that if you ever find yourself in this place, go in and take a look inside. It looks very unusual and tourists are curious to see the interior.
In the area to which this town belongs, there are many windmills and hence the idea for this architectural work which, together with the train, forms a unique place worth visiting.

Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
