I think it's no secret to those who read my daily posts on Hive that Úbeda was my favorite place when I visited Spain. There is magic in this town that seems to have stopped in the Renaissance era thanks to its ancient architecture, made of stone and maintained day by day to be a pleasant tourist attraction. My visit to this mystical place was in early spring of this year, I can not share a great picture of the facade of this hotel because all the streets were too narrow, so this selfie with my wife and the hotel in the background is the best I can offer of the first impression upon arrival.
Creo que no es un secreto para quienes leen mis posts diarios en Hive que Úbeda fue mi lugar favorito cuando visité España. Hay magia en este pueblo que parece que se detuvo en la época renacentista gracias a su arquitectura antigua, de piedra y que mantienen día a día para que sea un atractivo turístico agradable. Mi paso por este místico lugar fue a inicios de la primavera de este año, no les puedo compartir una gran fotografía de la fachada de este hotel porque todas las calles eran demasiado angostas, así que este selfie junto a mi esposa y el hotel de fondo es lo mejor que les puedo ofrecer de la primera impresión al llegar.
The Hotel is called Rosaleda de San Pedro, and my only complaint about it has nothing to do with its facilities, but rather with the city. The streets are so narrow that the buses could not go up and left us several blocks down. As it was high season due to Easter, my entire choral group could not fit in the rooms and we were divided into two hotels, I was in this one where the girls stayed, I always pretended to be one of the sopranos to meet my wife and the girl in question was in the hotel of the tenors. The good thing is that the same hotel offered a cab service to transfer the suitcases to their facilities, we went up on foot, but it was really pleasant the first view of the town.
El Hotel se llama Rosaleda de San Pedro, y mi única queja respecto a el ni siquiera tiene que ver con sus instalaciones, más bien sería con la ciudad. Las calles son tan angostas que los autobuses no pudieron subir y nos dejaron varias cuadras abajo. Al ser temporada alta debido a la Semana Santa no entraba toda mi agrupación coral en las habitaciones y nos dividieron en dos hoteles, a mí me tocó en este donde alojaron a las chicas, siempre me hice pasar por una de las sopranos para quedar con mi esposa y la chica en cuestión estaba en el hotel de los tenores. Lo bueno es que el mismo hotel ofreció un servicio de taxis para trasladar las maletas hasta sus instalaciones, nosotros subimos a pie, pero fue realmente placentero la primera vista del pueblo.
It may not be so striking on the outside, in fact the most beautiful are the windows, but inside is another world where elegance and modernity stands out, unlike the rest of the facades of the city totally Renaissance and stone colors. Modern, but at the same time very simple. Elegant lamps everywhere, beautiful curtains, paintings that match the colors of the walls and majestic carpets, all very similar floors. I remember my impression was so great that I sent my girl in the elevator with our suitcases and told her to meet me upstairs to see the staircase area, and boy was it worth it, as there was a beautiful stone wall and a combination of black and white that captivated me.
Puede ser que por fuera no sea tan llamativo, de hecho lo más hermoso son los ventanales, pero dentro es otro mundo donde destaca la elegancia y modernidad, a diferencia del resto de las fachadas de la ciudad totalmente renacentistas y de colores piedra. Moderno, pero a la vez muy simple. Lámparas elegantes por doquier, hermosas cortinas, cuadros que combinan con los colores de las paredes y majestuosas alfombras, todos los pisos muy parecidos. Recuerdo que mi impresión fue tan grande que mandé a mi chica en el ascensor con nuestras maletas y le dije para vernos arriba, para conocer el área de las escaleras, y vaya que valió la pena, ya que había una hermosa pared de piedra y una combinación de blancos y negros que me cautivó.
The common areas were beautiful and very comfortable, I just sat down to feel the texture of the sofas, but I did not last long in those areas, there was a whole town with medieval architecture to go out and see, but I am sure that if we would have stayed more days in Úbeda, that white sofa would be the place where I would sit to write my daily posts for Hive. As you can see in the pictures below, different colors pop in both rooms, but everything matches perfectly. The floor was extremely clean, in fact I had to walk very carefully even though I had sneakers on, but that is another plus point for the hotel.
Las áreas comunes eran hermosas y muy cómodas, solo me senté para sentir la textura de los sofás, pero no duré mucho tiempo en esas áreas, había todo un pueblo con arquitectura medieval que salir a conocer, pero estoy seguro que si nos habríamos quedado más días en Úbeda, ese sofá blanco sería el lugar donde me sentaría a redactar mis publicaciones diarias para Hive. Como pueden ver en las fotografías de abajo, en ambos ambientes resaltan colores distintos, pero todo combina a perfección. El piso estaba extremadamente limpio, de hecho me tocaba caminar con mucho cuidado aunque tenía zapatos deportivos, pero eso es otro punto a favor para el hotel.
I always write wonders about Spain and its architecture; it is not that in my country there are no beautiful places, in fact in Caracas highlights the modernity and classic in its buildings, but all the places I met in Spain have a special attention to detail, it seems that each city has a theme, a color, even the arrangement of trees in the streets is perfect and planned with many years. They are perfect places to travel and see the beauty of the world, and Úbeda is one of them. I recommend this hotel 100%, it is elegant, economical and just a few blocks from the most iconic places in Úbeda. Do you have to walk a little? Siempre escribo maravillas sobre España y su arquitectura; no es que en mi país no haya lugares hermosos, de hecho en Caracas resalta la modernidad y lo clásico en sus edificaciones, pero todos los lugares que conocí en España tienen un cuidado especial de los detalles, parece que cada ciudad tuviera un tema, un color, hasta la disposición de los árboles en las calles es perfecta y planificada con muchos años. Son lugares perfectos para viajar y conocer la belleza del mundo, y Úbeda es uno de ellos. Este hotel lo recomiendo 100%, es elegante, económico y está a solo unas cuadras de los lugares más icónicos de Úbeda. ¿Hay que caminar un poco?
