I wanted to share about a space that I stayed with my family about a month ago. This space is unique because there are not many well-organized hotel offering their service as well as actually pretty decent. I think a lot of hotelier can learn from this place despite it's not a 5 stars. I have to say that I had a pleasant stay and it's why I'd love to recommend this space. So, let's dive into this space.

The place I am talking about is called Cabin Hotel. You might think that it's a cabin-like place but it's not. There are a few branches throughout Yogyakarta and almost all of them are located at the hottest area in the province. With such a prime location, you might think that they are costly. The thing is, they are considered as a budget hotel. One of their property is located next to Tugu Railway Station and in the iconic street of Mangkubumi where tourists typically hangout during the evening. It's a great area to get the feel like a local would.

The entrance of the hotel is really simple. It has a very open lobby where there are also fridge and gelato freezer. Upon checking, you will be given a free complementary gelato. However, the greatest selling point of the place is that it is a 24 hour hotel where visitors can check-in anytime. In Yogyakarta, there are not many hotel or accommodation that can do that. It's why I think this was the best selling point considering its prime location too. The gelato was definitely cherry on top and I obviously would not say no to the free gelato.

The lobby is also decorated with ornaments reflecting some parts of Yogyakarta culture. It has masks on its wall and adorn the wall with the two Javanese couple statue that also adorn the open air lobby. Typically, most budget places don't even think about making their lobby convenient but the sofa in this lobby made me want to fall asleep right there after the 3 hours train ride.

Since I was with my family, we were booking a room that has 2 bed. It was quite spacious and we got some complementary toiletries despite only staying for 8 hours. In front of the door, they also have this sayings that essentially mentioning the place is cozy. While it was pretty small, it was one of the best and coziest place I've ever stayed in the city. For someone who has tried all from the pods to the 5 stars, this one is now my top 2 place.

The bed was definitely comfortable and it was really comfortable or perhaps it was because I was exhausted that makes the bed comfortable. The temperature was also pleasant and the air conditioner works as intended. Their bed placement was quite okay despite not fengshui friendly. With a price that was pretty reasonable for 3 people, definitely the whole place was definitely a steal.

Although, most of my critique would lie on its furniture. They randomly placed a drawer in the middle and there is no place to actually store our bags. They could have added perhaps a smaller storage that are attached to the window. Their bathroom is also a bit too big and it took up a lot more spaces which I think could be smaller too. In terms of safety, overall it was good. Since it was the three of us, unfortunately they only gave us one card instead of 2 cards. I guess it was also okay since I was also the one whose name on the reservation card. At the same time, I had to pay some deposit for the card and I suppose, adding one more card means paying some more.

I would definitely recommend the place since their check-in is flexible and you can literally come at 4 AM or 3 AM and they' d be still accepting your booking and even wait for you. It's also cozy and comfortable with an efficient design whether you're on a business travel or just leisure trip.
