Happy to be with you all friends, I expect a good return from our different working perspectives this week. Although, for me my front office manager's work at my hotel this week was really not easy with customers. We keep having many customers every day.
After I went for a break from work today, I have to visit one of the abandoned oldest hotels in Owerri Imo State Nigeria. The name of the hotel is known as Night Dawn hotel. The hotel is located at Owerri West Local Government of Imo State. The hotel was among the most happening club hotel in Owerri the capital of Imo State Nigeria but because of improper management of the hotel by the relatives of the owner after he was dead and buried without a child or a wife. The hotel is no longer functional at the moment.
According to my father, the Architect that built the hotel was from a foreign country which made the hotel to be among the best structured hotel in Imo State Nigeria.
The designs in this hotel is too unique than to be compared to the most hotels in the state because the paints use to paint the inside and outside the hotel is that of oil paint and at least could be washed with water and soap if the hotel is a kind of dirty.
To use a good paint to paint a hotel is very important as the color of the building will find it difficult to spoil.
Looking at the roof of this hotel, during my visit to the hotel. I noticed that the roof was designed using iron as the skeleton and aluminum zinc for the roof. This style of roof makes the hotel roof to last long there by making heavy wind or rain in the state not to affect the building too fast. The aluminum roof also makes sun not to enter the hotel during the day and to reduce hit in the hotel. If you look at the hotel very well, you will see some designs beside the up roof which add beauty to the hotel.
The space which the Architect provided in the hotel for car park is enough to accommodate customers cars especially at the night when clubbing.
Not minding that this hotel is no longer functional and has been abandoned for a long time, the beauty from outside view is still attractive and could be use if properly managed from another hotel owners who has more experience in hotel management.
My father also told me that most prominent men in the state use to visit the hotel especially for night clubbing because the light that used to shine inside the hotel is too amazing and good looking. During some years back, some primary schools use to make use of this hotel for recreation center for visit after the close of every single term. The Night Dawn hotel was popularly recognized with it unique light wall designs at night when the hotel was still functioning.
Looking at the hotel from the inside and outside the environment, I noticed that the structures of the hotel are still okay and strong with good designs. I was not permitted by some security personnel to enter the building since the hotel is not yet functional. For that reason, I was able to capture a few pictures which I shared with you.
For me, I will suggest that since the structures and designs of the hotel are still okay. The relatives should just sell the hotel to some other hotels owners that can manage the hotel properly instead of wasting the hotel for no just reason and no money is also entering their pockets.
