Hello HIVE friends who are in this community, it's been a long time since I shared with all of you. Today I will share my experience, when I visited Loksumawe, I almost forgot to share my experience visiting this traditional house a few months ago and it would be a shame if I didn't share my visit with all of you. What I visited at that time and I haven't had the chance to share with all of you is the Acehnese traditional house in Loksumawe. I have seen this building before when I visited Langsa City which is in another part of Aceh. However, when I was in the city of Loksumawe, I just found out that this traditional house was turned into a museum. However, in this museum there are no guards at all and visitors cannot enter when we are there. It's very unfortunate and maybe this museum is just a symbol.
This traditional house museum is right in front of the Loksumawe Islamic Center Mosque which I shared a few months ago. The museum yard is very wide. And in the middle of the museum courtyard we will see a miniature sailing ship made of wood. Why is it a miniature ship / maybe because the City of Loksumawe is close to the Harbor so they made a miniature ship and placed it on top of the Tugu so that it can attract visitors the first time they come to this traditional house museum. This layer ship monument is named the Samawi Bay Coin with a little information that is there and uses 3 languages, namely Indonesian, English and Arabic.
Unlike other museums, which present many historical relics to support historical facts or stories that have developed in society. The Loksumawe City traditional house museum only shows us how the traditional houses of the Acehnese people look like without any supporting information there. Actually I was more satisfied when I saw the shape of the model houses in Langsa City, even so I appreciate the local government who still want to preserve this traditional house so that the current generation knows how their original traditional house looks like.
This traditional house consists of two levels while still maintaining the original color of the wood which is made of Damar wood if I'm not mistaken. On the first floor we only see an empty tiled space that can be used for a meeting hall and on this first floor there are many pillars to support the buildings on the second floor. And when I want to see the building on the second floor, the door is locked and I don't know what historical relics are in this house.
Next to the main house there is another building called the community hall. This is an example of buildings in ancient times to show that when village meetings were held to reach an agreement on an issue that had to be made a joint decision, the community would gather at this community hall. if now we will name it with the Hall or meeting room. On the other side of the building there is also a rice barn to store people's crops. This rice barn is made of tepas and has several partitions. And there is also a traditional rice pounder to separate the bran from rice which can be cooked immediately.
On the back side of this museum, it turns out there is a cannon which I accidentally found. And I thought it was the original cannon, it turns out it was a cement mold that was made in the shape of a cannon and painted black. And all the buildings here use roofs made of roof tiles and are clad in boards, which are almost dominantly made of resin wood and the ground floor is made of resin. already made of ceramic. What do you think about the shape of this museum? Have you ever seen a museum that is of the same type as this museum? let's share stories and share your experiences. Greetings from us, Tomi and Maya, from the city of Binjai, Indonesia
