Dear lovers of baroque buildings, I present to you one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Vojvodina.
The bishop's castle in Vršac is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city of Vršac, and it is also one of the most beautiful examples of bishop's palaces in Serbia. It is also the oldest castle of the Serbian Orthodox Church and is the only one of its kind from the Baroque period.
This beautiful castle was built between 1750 and 1757, while the bishop was Jovan Georgijević.

During the time, this building had renovations, but the most important ones when it got a neo-baroque and neo-renaissance look was 1904, and the time of Bishop Gavril Zmejanović.
The roof of this castle is very interesting, blue-green, I don't know exactly what material it is, but there is nothing similar in the city except in this castle.
On the left side of the castle there is a large gold bell that fits perfectly with the colors of the facade.
The castle is surrounded by a large garden, with some fruit planted, and next to the fruit there are other types of trees. There is also a small auxiliary building on the next side.
The fence around the castle is made of wrought iron with various floral motifs.
At the very top of the gate there is a coat of arms with an iconostasis, a white dove and a crown.
There is a bishop and nuns in the castle, so access to the interior is not allowed when we are there, but an appointment must be made to see the interior of this building.
In any case, this castle is a very beautiful detail of architecture that adorns the city of Vrsac, it is also a cultural monument of exceptional importance.
