[ENG] Greetings community! I am cheerful to share one of the last jobs that I have been doing, it is the design of a concrete sink. It is a joint effort with my friend and business partner 
For some months we have been working on industrial design pieces, however, this project is on a larger scale than previous works, it represents a personal challenge for me.

¡Saludos, comunidad! Me complace compartir uno de los últimos trabajos que he estado realizando, se trata del diseño de un lavamanos de concreto. Es un esfuerzo en conjunto con mi amigo y socio
Desde hace algunos meses hemos estado trabajando en piezas de diseño industrial, sin embargo, este proyecto es de una escala mayor que los trabajos anteriores, representa para mi un reto personal.
[ENG] Last week Luis visited the house to carry out measurements and studies of the site, he also took several photographs that, of course, he has approved that I publish, and that have been very useful in visualizing the project. Then we both went and met the owners of the home, friendly people, now we took a week to draw and calculate the costs.
[ESP] La semana pasada Luis fue de visita a la casa a realizar medidas y estudios del sitio, también realizó varias fotografías que, por supuesto, ha aprobado que yo las publique, y que han sido muy útiles en la visualización del proyecto. Luego fuimos ambos y conocimos a los dueños del hogar, gente amable, ahora nos tomamos una semana para dibujar y calcular los costos.

. [ENG] We consider that one of the clear tasks will be to accommodate the pipes and the background terrain.

. [ENG] The same day that Luis went to measure and photograph, he made a first pencil drawing of what would be the initial idea of the project, what the owners of the house imagine. One of the descriptions was that the piece would have multiple uses, such as washing rags, washing dishes and perhaps even bathing his little puppy.
[ESP] El mismo día que Luis fue a medir y fotografiar, realizó un primer dibujo a lápiz de lo que sería la idea inicial del proyecto, lo que imaginan los dueños de la casa. Una de las descripciones fue que la pieza tendría múltiples usos, como lavar trapos, fregar platos y quizás incluso, bañar a su pequeño cachorro.

. [ENG] With the first drawing and some established measurements, I began to re-draw the sink in SketchUp, a digital tool that allows us to modify the design and make any necessary adjustments in a short time.
[ESP] Ya con el primer dibujo y algunas medidas establecidas, comencé a re-dibujar el lavamanos en SketchUp, herramienta digital que nos permite modificar el diseño y realizar cualquier ajuste necesario en poco tiempo.
[ENG] There are two basic things to organize the elements in SketchUp and keep everything systematized. The first is that when we draw each piece of the project, we must choose that volume and convert it into a group, as seen in the image (Select > Right Click > Make Group), otherwise each line and planes are separated and it is difficult to preserve the drawing without errors.
[ESP] Hay dos cosas elementales para organizar los elementos en SketchUp y que todo esté sistematizado. La primera es que cuando dibujamos cada pieza del proyecto, debemos elegir ese volumen y convertirlo en un grupo, como se ve en la imagen (Seleccionar > Click derecho > Make Group), de otra forma cada linea y planos quedan separados y es difícil conservar el dibujo sin errores.
[ENG] For example, the main piece of the sink is converted into a group, and when we left click it, it is selected in its entirety and not just a line or a plane. To modify lines within the group we have to double click.
[ESP] Por ejemplo, la pieza principal del lavamanos esta convertida en un grupo, y cuando se le da click izquierdo, se selecciona en su totalidad y no solo una linea o un plano. Para modificar lineas dentro del grupo hay que hacer doble click.
[ENG] The second strategy, quite useful, to organize the drawing, is to separate all the different elements in their respective Layers, this allows a better visualization of the project, since when turning off the view of a Layer, it disappears in the drawing until we turn it on again. For example, in the image below, I have turned off the Layers on the walls, the door handles, guidelines, and the faucets.
When we turn the Layers back on, those elements appear again.
[ESP] La segunda estrategia, bastante útil, para organizar el dibujo, es separar todos los elementos diferentes en respectivos 'Layers' (Capas), esto permite visualizar mejor el proyecto, ya que al apagar la vista de un 'Layer', desaparece en el dibujo hasta que volvamos a encenderlo. Por ejemplo, en la siguiente imagen, he apagado los Layers de las paredes, las manillas de la puerta, líneas guía y los grifos.
Cuando volvemos a encender los Layers, vuelven a aparecen esos elementos.
[ENG] This is the result, based on my friend's pencil drawing and making a couple of adjustments, such as the raised floor to avoid rainwater and the doors with handles to save some things from home.
[ESP] Este es el resultado, basándome en el dibujo a lápiz de mi amigo y realizando un par de ajustes, como el piso elevado para evitar el agua de lluvia y las puertas con manillas para poder resguardar algunas cosas del hogar.

[ENG] Although I like the original design of my friend, I think that the back wall is a very large element, and that it entails a lot of cost in materials and a lot of work, therefore I made some adjustments again, eliminating that wall, and also the floor that would mean extra work to adjust the pipe, although we will probably still have to adjust it, I think the floor is important.
[ESP] Aunque me gusta el diseño original de mi amigo, creo que la pared de fondo es un elemento muy grande, y que conlleva bastante costo en materiales y bastante trabajo, por lo tanto volví a realizar algunos ajustes, eliminando esa pared, y también el piso, que significaría un trabajo extra de ajuste a la tubería, aunque probablemente igual tendremos que ajustarla, creo que el piso es importante.
[ENG] In the next few days we will present the drawings to the owners of the home, at the same time that we will propose the cost of construction.
This is how I imagine the finished piece would look like. If they accept the project, it will be the mission of this month.
