Hello friends of hive today I come with another publication in the community of Architecture+Design this time I bring you one of the most beautiful and well known monuments in the world, it happens to be in the city where I live and is the triumphal arch in Paris.
This beautiful architectural work, whose main function is to beautify the city, is a historical monument, was built in 1806 and the work completed its construction on July 29, 1836, the command to build the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte because he promised his troops at war, they would return home under triumphal arches and hence the idea of the triumphal arch.
Napoleon Bonaparte after the battle of Austerlitz in 1805 came up with this idea, and sent the architects Jean Chalgrin and Jean-Arnaud Raymond to build the monument in honor of the French soldiers, these architects were based on an arch located in Italy which is called the arch of Titus in the city of Rome.
The triumphal arch has a height of 49 meters and a width of 45 meters, the triumphal arch has a museum inside, I hope to show it to you another time, you can also climb to the roof, but this time I did not because I was just passing by, but I took the opportunity to take pictures and share them with you on hive. There is also a flame lit at its feet which is a reverence to the soldiers who fell in battles and whose names were never known, the monument is to the soldiers of the first world war.
The street where the triumphal arch is located is where all the most expensive stores of the city and the best brands, is where are Gucci, Prada and all those brands, the avenue is quite long and wide, is called the avenue of the Elysian Fields.
The triumphal arch has 4 sculptures around it, but they are groups of sculptures, one is called Le Départ and was made by François Rude in and pays tribute to the first French republic and the first uprising. Then there is Le Triomphe made by Jean-Pierre Cortot and pays homage to Napoleon Bonaparte crowned as emperor. The other sculptures are La Résistance and La Paix made by Antoine Étex, where he makes homage to some victories that happened before the treaty of Paris and to the same treaty of Paris of the French revolution.
This city is very beautiful and you can enjoy these wonders at a glance, people like to come here to take pictures and cultural events, here there are always many people, every time I pass by, there is always a lot of security and they are in some kind of event of some organization.
As you can see in spite of the sun, I wore a jacket because I like to come well dressed when I come here, unlike when I go to the university or to work, here people dress very nice and I don't want to be out of place, enjoy a good weather and take many pictures, I hope you enjoy them, in another opportunity I will show you more of the triumphal arch and the avenue, what I can tell you is that many people pass by and also many vehicles sometimes close the vehicular passage but it is always very busy this area.
Bye Bye Hivers
