Hi friends, when I was walking around the city of Banda Aceh, I really wanted to visit the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is very famous in my province. This mosque has been around since 1612, built by Sultan Iskandar Muda as a place of worship for Muslims. This mosque was also burned by the Dutch and rebuilt in 1877. In 2004, a tsunami occurred in the city of Banda Aceh which was very powerful, but this mosque was able to stand strong and thousands of refugees were accommodated in this mosque. That's a brief history that I know about this historic mosque.
When traveling to Banda Aceh, I feel like a trip wouldn't be complete without visiting the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. The building is very spacious and unique, with a clean white feel and seven black domes. In addition, the mosque area has electric umbrellas similar to the Nabawi Mosque in Saudi Arabia. This spacious mosque can accommodate thousands of worshippers to perform prayers.
and what amazed me about this mosque was that this mosque was the only building that survived the devastating tsunami, this mosque stood strong in the middle of the buildings around it that collapsed and were carried away by the water, even at the time of the tsunami there were many casualties, at that time including my uncle who died when the tsunami occurred
The rest area is also very spacious, separated between men and women. The place is very clean with a very beautiful marble floor. And next to me k jfl kit there are also many bathrooms. The bathrooms are lined up in a row and are also very neat and clean. But unfortunately yesterday I didn't have time to take a picture of the bathroom.
In front of the rest area, there are stairs and escalators for us to go up or to the front of the mosque area which is very beautiful and very spacious. There are also photography services there. You can ask the photographer to take photos of you and your family at a fairly cheap price per photo.
Entering the main door of the mosque, there are very large and beautiful decorative lights, while the door is also very unique with a touch of dark brown iron door which gives an antique, magnificent and sacred impression which gives an interesting touch and also contrasts sharply with the white walls of the mosque. This door is also often used as a photo spot for tourists visiting this mosque.
Entering the mosque, we can feel the religious atmosphere with its majestic pillars and Mughal architecture, decorated with large decorative lamps and cool marble floors. The main area of the mosque is specifically for people who will perform prayers, men and women are separated. On the edge of the mosque, there are also several glass cabinets for storing mukenas (prayer robes) for women.
Beautiful, magnificent and cool, that's the picture I can describe when we enter the area of this mosque, with a very magnificent mosque atmosphere that makes everyone admire it when they see it.
I also had time to take a photo with my child. Basically, I love this place, and I've seen many foreign tourists visiting this mosque. However, to enter this mosque, women must wear a headscarf and a long skirt.
Thank you 🙂🤗
