I waited my entire life to be an adult, people created a hoax that life after school and college is going to be so exiting and full of freedom.
It's been a year exactly that I have graduated and I still can't find the promised excitement yet! LOL!
Working most hours of the day and getting almost no free time is what life has turned out to be. Extracting out a day of relaxation between couple of weeks is what left now. But I try to make it most exiting. A week ago I went out for a family dinner and a friends lunch. Between catching up with everyone on the way to restaurant I found a place which I never visited even being living in the city since my birth.
The Peace
Living in North India, Delhi. It is quite uncommon to spot some south style temples here and specially this metropolitan city has very few less noisy and full of greenery places to offer.
Contradicting myself on lack of time to visit this extremely pleasant place, but a thought struck my mind that it's a single day and I got to do what I feel like. so without further a do I parked my vehicle and went straight into the temple.
Temple which have a open courtyard around are so much peaceful as they offer benches to just sit and absorb the positivity around. The temple was not much crowdy just couple of families that's it. It was so surreal and calming that after offering my respects to the god's idol in the temple I sat on the courtyard bench and just took a deep breath of peace and calm.
Also took a few pictures , I wish to showcase the interiors as well but photography inside was prohibited.
Wonder how different types of built environments can bring in vivid feelings into humans, That's the true beauty of architecture and it will always keep touching heart of people in certain way.
One needs to balance both the chaotic and peaceful world in life.
Sitting on a bench in the courtyard with trees surrounding me and birds chirping loudly and sunset visible just through eye level behind the temple was really soothing. No one bothering and just the cool breeze with the positive vibe of the temple. This was truly the highlight of my day out.
The intricacy
The south Indian style of temple architecture is really vast and detailed. This temple was sort of a smaller version but the best one in Delhi. There are a few south Indian temples here but the structural details in this one is mesmerising.
The stambha is considered auspicious and it is made up of brass with flower detailing.
The pastel blue colour with lemon coloured contrast on walls was really soothing to eyes and bought the attention towards the p.o.p. detailing.
The calmness and stillness in the built up space of the temple was just refreshing.
The most interesting fact about this style of temples is that they always depicts the story in the hindu history through sculptures and those feels like a still video. you just roam around the periphery of the temple wall and the intricate detailing with the sculptures will speak a story you just need to understand it.
Apart from these sculpture details this temple had an entire sandstone façade building which was meant for official use. the courtyard do not just had seating for people but also a cow shed, water hand pump and a shoe rack for respective purposes.
Sometimes the built structures provide more than what they are meant for.
The phone rang and everyone waiting for the dinner called me and I had to snap out of my peace zone and rush to cp in order to meet my family for dinner. It was fun listening to the heart and taking out a peaceful time for myself which was only possible because of beautiful calming architecture of this temple.
Later that evening it was fun strolling cp and eating delicious food at Ghumar restaurant.
Have you been to such built structure which bought a sense of peace within?
