Business is all about taking advantage of available opportunities. Especially the coffee shop business which currently can be established in a house in general.
We need courage. Once the opportunity is there, we must not waste the opportunity.
Be a coffee shop, from a big old house. At that time I was amazed to see how sturdy the old house was. Even though the house is old, it still leaves a dashing and luxurious impression.

At that time I had the opportunity to stop at a coffee shop in the middle of Medan. I was invited by one of my passengers to the place. So, I will share my experience about the design of a coffee shop with you.
It's a AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE. Located in the city of Medan which is quite busy with workers. It's nice to be able to drink coffee in a coffee shop that feels homey. The real home because it was founded is actually in a residential house.

AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE
The view from the front doesn't show that it's a coffee shop at all. We will see that the building is a big old house and still looks luxurious.
As soon as we enter this coffee shop, we can see a sign with the name of this coffee shop "AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE". As in front of the terrace of the house, with two large white pillars that give the impression of splendor.
The more you enter the house, the more homey vibes will be felt. Like home vibes in general, we can feel the simplicity there.
Many windows are placed there. This creates a cool atmosphere in the indoor area even though you don't use air conditioning. There is only a traditional fan hanging on the roof.

Playing With Floor Motive
The unique thing that we can see from the living room of this house is the play on the floor of this building. In some spaces a cross motif is formed using different ceramic colors. It makes the room look spacious.
Also used several other ceramic motifs in the same area to create the impression of a lot of space in that one room.

Sturdy and Elegant Wood Texture
The use of wood has always been an interesting thing in buildings. Wood material creates a texture and color that has a strong and elegant character.
At AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE which has a total of 3 floors, you can see a sturdy building using wood materials. Starting from windows, chairs, tables, also the materials that form the banisters.
The stairs are also made using wood material. When climbing the steps, there is no texture sound at all indicating that the wood is strong.
🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠
Turning to chairs, chairs with various shapes as furniture that is rich in wood material.
Also, on the top floor there are two wooden rocking chairs that still look solid even though they look like two old chairs.
🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠
On the roof, we also see the use of wood material which really defines the room. I am amazed how the room looks luxurious and not glamorous, but still looks peaceful with the texture of the wood.
🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠
Combined with the use of room lights, AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE looks increasingly like a solid building.

Empty Area Utilization
As is the case with multi-storey houses in general, there are various small empty spaces. For example the side of the house on the second floor.
They use the place for mushala (a prayer room for Muslims). Beside the prayer room, there is a small space where small chairs are placed.
Also, added wooden tables with a nice wood texture. This space is quite useful, especially if the coffee shop is busy, especially on weekends.

I came to this place on a weekday, and it was still early in the morning. So I was lucky to be able to photograph this place.
They also take advantage of the garden area in front of the house for outdoor areas. When I arrived, the chairs had not been arranged because it had just rained there. But this space will be a cool place because it has green space. Suitable for a place to relax in the afternoon.

Overall, I feel comfortable being at AWAIAN COFFEE HOUSE. It felt like I was in a charming old house.
