Modernization of cultural spaces
Greetings architecture and design lovers. A few weeks ago I went to a performance at the Teatro de la Opera, in Maracay, Venezuela, and I noticed some positive changes in its internal design that I want to share. I know that some time ago I did a review of this place, but this time I want to mention those details that are new.
When I arrived, I came in from the west and took pictures from those angles. East and west, I am glad that they keep the green areas and all the outside space clean. In the afternoon light you can appreciate the view of the floor with its smooth terracotta design and another one of found triangles that, placed in an interspersed manner, create the six-pointed star figure. It is very creative this floor from my point of view. As you walk in you see more light in before, there are a lot of lamps with dim lighting.

Saludos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño. Hace unas semanas fui a una función en el teatro de la Ópera, en Maracay, Venezuela, y me di cuenta de algunos cambios positivos en su diseño interno que quiero compartir. Sé que hace algún tiempo hice una reseña de este lugar, pero en esta ocasión quiero mencionar esos detalles que son nuevos.
Cuando llegué, lo hice por el oeste y saqué fotografías desde esos ángulos. Este y oeste, me alegra que conserven las áreas verdes y todo el espacio exterior limpio. Con la luz de la tarde se puede apreciar la vista del piso con su diseño de terracota lisa y otro de triángulos encontrados que, puestos de forma intercalada, crean la figura de estrella de seis puntas. Es muy creativo este piso desde mi punto de vista. Al entrar se ve más luz en antes, hay muchas lámparas con luz tenue.
The updates that I could notice are in the theater itself, its wooden ceiling made of thin varnished sheets give it a handmade touch, with some circles that I don't know their name or their utility, but I think they may be elements that help with the acoustics.
This time I saw a giant TV screen where they advertise sponsors and broadcast information about future events. Another thing that has always been there, but until now I observed it well, are the tubes that surround the entire theater acting as walls, this time I approached and I could touch them, they are dark colored square tubes that with the blue light look beautiful, as they combine with the seats that are lined with a red suede fabric. It was a surprise for me to realize that the walls were tubes and behind them there is a black sheet or wall, but I could not touch it to be sure. It is interesting how building materials such as iron can be part of the decor of an environment.
Las actualizaciones de las que me pude dar cuenta están en el teatro en sí, su techo de madera hecho de finas láminas barnizadas le dan un toque artesanal, con unos círculos que desconozco su nombre o su utilidad, pero creo que pueden ser elementos que ayudan con la acústica.
Esta vez vi una pantalla gigante de televisión donde hacen la publicidad de los patrocinadores y difunden la información de los eventos futuros. Otra cosa que siempre ha estado, pero hasta ahora lo observe bien, son los tubos que rodean todo el teatro haciendo las veces de paredes, esta vez me acerquen y los pude tocar, son tubos cuadrados de color oscuro que con la luz azul se ven hermosos, ya que combinan con las butacas que están forradas con una tela gamuzada roja. Para mí fue una sorpresa darme cuenta de que las paredes eran tubos y detrás de ellos hay una lámina o pared de color negro, pero no pude tocarlo para estar segura. Es interesante cómo los materiales de construcción como el hierro pueden formar parte de la decoración de un ambiente.
The interior floor of the theater is carpeted in gray with an abstract black line design and something to note are the red lights on the edge of the stairs, helping the visibility of the steps. That gives it a modern and elegant style at the same time. Years ago inside the theater the decoration was tricolor, at the top it was illuminated with yellow light, then the tubes gave the blue color and the chairs and floor the red color, like the Venezuelan flag, in that order yellow, blue and red, with this renovation they replaced the yellow color with the mahogany of the ceiling.
It looks very nice and one feels comfortable in its facilities, the music is heard with power and clarity, this is one of the architectural designs that represent the culture of the capital of my state. I hope you liked my post, see you soon for a future publication.
El piso interior del teatro está alfombrado de color gris con un diseño abstracto de líneas negras y algo que hay que destacar son las luces rojas en el borde de las escaleras, ayudando a la visibilidad de los escalones. Eso le da un estilo moderno y elegante a la vez. Hace años en el interior del teatro la decoración era tricolor, en la parte superior se iluminaba con luz amarilla, luego los tubos daban el color azul y las sillas y piso el color rojo, como el de la bandera de Venezuela, en ese orden amarillo, azul y rojo, con esta renovación sustituyeron el color amarillo por la caoba del techo.
Se ve muy bonito y uno se siente cómodo en sus instalaciones, la música se escucha con potencia y claridad, esta es una de los diseños arquitectónicos que representan la cultura de la capital de mi estado. Espero que mi post haya sido de su agrado, hasta una próxima publicación.
