Today I will take you to tour an avenue that caught my attention. This avenue is located in the Arismendi municipality, La Asuncion, Nueva Esparta State, in the Margarita Islands.

Hoy los llevaré a recorrer una Avenida que me llamó mucho la atención. Esta avenida está ubicada en el municipio Arismendi, La Asunción, Estado Nueva Esparta, en las Islas Margarita.
The first thing we found as we approached is a large sculpture by artist Humberto Cazorla, to which he gave the title “Ave avizorando la ciudad” (Bird watching over the city). This interesting work was placed at the beginning of this avenue in the year 2000, when the city of La Asunción celebrated 400 years since the city's coat of arms had been granted to the city.
Lo primero que encontramos al acercarme es una gran escultura del artista Humberto Cazorla, a la cual le dio el título “Ave avizorando la ciudad”. Esta interesante obra fue colocada al comienzo de esta avenida en el año 2000, cuando la ciudad de La Asunción cumplía 400 años desde que se le había otorgado el escudo a la ciudad.
In my opinion, they chose an excellent place to put this work, since this avenue has around it almost all the ministries, such as the ISPSME (education), the Palace of Justice, the state police, the Governor's office and the bar association, which makes this avenue very busy and this work can be well appreciated.
En mi opinión, escogieron un excelente lugar para poner esta obra, ya que esta avenida tiene alrededor de ella casi todos los ministerios, como el ISPSME (educación), el Palacio de Justicia, la policía del estado, la Gobernación y el colegio de abogados, lo que hace que esta avenida sea muy concurrida y se puede apreciar bien está obra.
In 2010, they changed the name of this avenue, placing at the beginning a plaque with the name Simón Bolívar, although some continue to call it by its old name, which is Constitution Avenue. The name of this avenue was very controversial, according to what I was told by the watchman of the Governor's Office, who gave me the information. He told me that this avenue had several names that he does not remember, because when they changed the mayor, each one wanted to put a different name.
When this last plaque was placed, the avenue was remodeled. Trees were planted, the pavement of the sidewalks was redone and everything was very picturesque.
En el año 2010, le cambiaron el nombre a esta avenida, colocando al principio de esta una placa con el nombre Simón Bolívar, aunque algunos continúan llamándola por su antiguo nombre, que es avenida Constitución. El nombre de esta avenida fue muy polémico, según me comentó el vigilante de la Gobernación, quien me proporcionó la información. Él me dijo que esta avenida tuvo varios nombres que él no recuerda, porque cuando cambiaban de alcalde, cada cual quería poner un nombre diferente.
Cuando le fue colocada esta última placa, la avenida fue remodelada. Se plantaron árboles, se rehizo el pavimento de las aceras y todo quedó muy pintoresco.
In the year 2021, they placed a monument with two plaques: one of them had the words of Simon Bolivar while the other had the words of the president of the country, in an epic moment that Venezuela was going through. This monument has a lot to do with the history of Venezuela, the courage and resistance of the Venezuelan people. It was ordered to be placed on June 24, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo.
En el año 2021, le colocaron un monumento con dos placas: una de ellas llevaba unas palabras de Simón Bolivar mientras que la otra tenía las palabras del presidente del país, en un momento épico por el que pasaba Venezuela. Este monumento tiene mucho que ver con la historia de Venezuela, la valentía y resistencia del pueblo venezolano. Fue mandado a colocar el 24 de junio, con motivo de los 200 años de la Batalla de Carabobo.
All those who frequent this avenue usually visit and sit on the benches. As it is a very steep avenue, when you are at the top, you can see from it the green hills in the distance, which is another of its attractions: the beautiful view it offers. It was one of the things I enjoyed the most while walking along it.
Todos los que frecuentan esta avenida suelen visitar y sentarse en los bancos. Como es una avenida muy empinada, cuando estás en lo más alto, se pueden apreciar desde ella los verdes cerros a lo lejos, lo que es otro de sus atractivos: la bella vista que ofrece. Fue una de las cosas que más disfruté mientras caminaba por ella.
In addition, this avenue is not only a place of transit, but also a meeting place for the community. On weekends, especially, it is full of life with families and friends who come to enjoy the environment. Children play in the green areas and adults take the opportunity to exercise or simply relax on the benches. Others prefer to exercise in the ecological park at the end of the park, which makes it a meeting point, making it even more special.
Además, esta avenida no solo es un lugar de tránsito, sino también un espacio de encuentro para la comunidad. Los fines de semana, especialmente, se llena de vida con familias y amigos que vienen a disfrutar del entorno. Los niños juegan en las áreas verdes y los adultos aprovechan para hacer ejercicio o simplemente relajarse en los bancos. Otros prefieren ejercitarse en el parque ecológico que hay al final de la misma, lo que la convierte en un punto de encuentro, haciéndola aún más especial.
