It has become a routine when we go on long trips, especially land trips and drive our own vehicle, distance and stamina are the main keys. Not all individuals have the same stamina, especially those who have never traveled long distances. When I was going on a trip to the city of Padang, West Sumatra, because the distance was quite far, I decided to look for a place to rest and I accidentally found a large parking area with lots of fairly dense trees for shade and at that time the place was still quiet because it was not yet lunch time. and Muslim prayer times. And the place where I took shelter was a small mosque which had unique architecture that tended to be cute and a little adorable in my opinion.
From the front.
From the front, this mosque looks very small, even when compared to several mosques that I have passed, this mosque is classified as a very small mosque. This is also emphasized by the fairly large parking area so that this mosque seems to protrude inward and gives the impression of being small. at the mosque building, but because of the large parking area, some passing motorists like us chose to stop to rest because it was not difficult to park their vehicles.
Interior decoration
From inside the mosque, I found this mosque to be the same as other mosques that I had encountered, meaning that this mosque had partitions to separate male and female worshipers, then this mosque was also installed with soft ambals like other mosques too. There is a priest's minibar and decoration typical of other mosques that I always go to, and this mosque also consists of two floors which are not very striking, the color of the car used on the walls is also a standard color, namely white so it doesn't really have a deep impression, but that makes the decoration From the inside it looks luxurious, namely the door leaf which I think is part of the Turkish theme, the distinctive gold color and strong door handle and the carvings which have sharp knick-knacks make the presence of this door leaf really stand out compared to the decoration of the door. in this mosque itself.
Roof shape
Well, what makes this mosque unique is the shape of the mosque's roof, my wife says it looks like the mouth of a goldfish, but I personally say that the roof is like the crown of a pineapple whose scales and color are almost the same. and what makes me annoyed is that until now there is no valid information about the mosque, what shape the dome actually is. It is golden in color and has scales and there is a pillar in front of the mosque. On the right and left sides of the mosque there are also wings which apparently function as water gutters. , do you think if I say the dome of this mosque is the shape of a pineapple, is it similar? Or is it more similar to a fish's mouth? And the shape of this dome is what makes this mosque different from the large mosques that I have seen and of course visited. And until I wrote this blog, I was still curious and a little confused about the shape of this mosque dome itself.
The mosque as a whole.
Overall, there is no special theme that I found in this mosque area, especially those with a tribal theme or a particular theme that is highlighted apart from the unique shape of the dome. Outside parking, a simple mosque design with just a play on paint colors and decorations, general decorations that are always found in mosque buildings, mini gardens and well-maintained corners of the building make this mosque worth visiting even if it is just a rest area.
