Hello HIVE friends in this community, there are many buildings with unique designs in our respective countries, including my country, of course especially in my province, but at this time I will not share one building like my previous posts have shown me. will share the design of a garden that is very unique and very strong in the regional customs of that place. And parks with a concept like this are very rare for me to find and this is a park with a concept that I have only just seen.
Usually the parks that I come across will have a design with many different types of flowers and colors that smell very fragrant and shady trees that surround the park with long garden chairs to decorate them too, but in the water front park in Pangaruran City Center it is very far different.
In the Pangaruran Waterfront park, there are only a few wooden poles and monuments of fishermen paddling as a form of community cooperation and have become landmarks in the park. The fishermen with their canoes and various paddling styles are known as 'Solu Bolon' according to the information on the plaque. From this information we can read some information that since ancient times the people who lived on Lake Toba used the lake as a means of communication before being touched by modern technology. Solu means wooden canoe and Solu Bolon can accommodate up to forty people,
Apart from the Pangaruran Landmark, there are several carved pillars that stand upright in the middle of the park and this is where I say what makes this park unique. and my knowledge greatly increased here. The poles are Batak Totems, which are also called in their regional language, Sitolu Harajaon, which are made from whole Johar wood. And from this information I just found out that these wood carvings were carved in the shape of a woman's breast as a symbol of the fertility of the people and then there was also the symbol of Boraspati or the God of the Land. And regarding Boraspatih's statement, I don't know which carving has the symbol of the God of the land.
Apart from that, there is also a goldfish symbol as a symbol of harmony and a horn as a symbol of rice or a symbol of blessings from God. As well as egg carvings as a symbol of the origins of human life itself. And these three totems symbolize Dalihan Na Tolu in Batak language, which means the harmonious kinship system of the Batak tribe.
And all the wood carvings stand against the backdrop of the beauty of Lake Toba. The air is very cool here, the breeze is blowing. And relaxing in this park makes time go by very quickly and it doesn't feel like it's already very late in the day. Even though the air here is cool, the bright sunlight makes it feel hot too. And this is a garden with knowledge requirements, even though it looks trivial and seems simple, I should also know this information.
And I also really hope that one day in my city there will be a park of identity like this and the origins of my hometown. It will definitely be very exciting and the current generation will know where the name of the city I live in comes from. And does this type of park exist in your city? Come share and show us in the community greetings from Tomi diwirja, Indonesia
