Hey HIVE friends in the Architecture + design community. Tonight I want to share a story about the results of my evening walk with my wife and of course still using my favorite red automatic motorcycle. And actually this documentation has been in my cellphone memory for almost 2 months, but I only had time to share it now with all of you. The name of the place that I will share with you all is the Malay Tribe Association Office. Because this is an office with one tribe, namely the Malay tribe, so it's not surprising that when I saw this building for the first time, I really felt that the design used for this building was very typical of the Malay people.
This building is open to the public so anyone can come to this place and see how this place was built which certainly shows their ethnic identity. In front of this building we can also find a large courtyard and many vendors in front of it selling various kinds of soft drinks and only available in the afternoon.
Take a look at this building, how beautiful it is when seen from the front where I am taking the photo now, with a two-story building and flanked by stairs on the right and left sides, this building looks very classy then the paint that symbolizes the pride of the Malay tribe is Yellow and Green with the meaning of prosperity showing that this building is worthy of promotion. And when I saw this building, I liked it because the yard was spacious and very well maintained, even though this building had been in this city for a very long time, in fact this building was very old without any significant renovations.
Even though this building is very well maintained, that doesn't mean that the old impression doesn't exist here, just like humans definitely have wrinkles and fine lines and that is very natural, the old impression that this building gives off can be seen in the wood of the dividing walls on each side. The stairs, although the carvings on the wood are very beautiful, are due to age, some of the paint and wood have become porous.
Going up to the second floor I like the hanging lamp above, although once again age never lies, because the design of this lamp is very old. And I saw two beautiful decorative lamps of their time. And I can see that. Then when I looked at the carvings on the edge of the roof, it turned out that almost all Malay buildings had carvings like that and I didn't know what it meant.
If you look at the floor, there is no real impression, but from this two-story building I can understand that this architecture is very thick with the aroma of tribal culture that they carry, so it is not appropriate if I criticize it according to my taste, because every interior design and the architecture has its own meaning and has meaning for their tribe. And actually I wanted to know more about the contents of this room, but this building was only opened when there was an event for their tribe. However, I was quite satisfied to know how the building was very steeped in Malay traditions, even if only from outside the building.
