The joy of our hearts when we visit a place is that apart from gaining experience, learning about so many diverse cultures and the mindset of the people in a very beautiful tourist area is definitely one of the goals of our trip, but not only tourist attractions with natural nuances because in One of the places we visited must have been some favorite places that were phenomenal, it could be that the building became a favorite place because the building has good architecture, interesting historical stories and many other things that other buildings in the surrounding area have never had and all what I described above is with the Grand Mosque of West Sumatra.
The Grand Mosque of West Sumatra is located in the city of Padang and of all the cities around it, the city of Padang is a very hot city so in the afternoon to come to this mosque is one of the right reasons because around this mosque there are lots of trees and mini gardens. as well as a large parking area so that we can relax and enjoy the gentle breeze brought in from the sea, because not far from this mosque is Padang beach which is another tourist destination in this city.
At first glance, this building was really amazing to me, its shape was very unique because it looked like a boat or maybe not. Do you think this mosque is similar to a boat because this mosque has a square shape that tapers at each corner and was built to withstand earthquakes and data obtained from the guards there, this mosque is able to accommodate up to 20-30 thousand worshipers in the mosque.
Because I said earlier, this mosque is square in shape with sharp edges, so when I photograph it from any angle, the shape of the building is almost the same, but on each side there are different things and that gives visitors more photo spots in this building. and let's take a closer look at how beautiful the decoration of this mosque is as expressed through its carvings. And you can see for yourself, I took the picture below from a side angle and it is very clear how the carvings there look very smooth and firm and there are feminine elements there mixed into one, the colors gold, black and brown as if competing to stand out there, but it turned out that the colors blended together to form a very beautiful element which formed a series of calligraphy that said praise and praise to God which we call Asmaul Husna and from these calligraphies emerged calligraphy that formed a triangle as if form wayang figures in Indonesia. but forgive me if I'm wrong. And there are many more small carvings that decorate and connect with others.
Under the carvings on the roof, I was also faced with the supporting pillars which were lined up neatly and I took the time to take a photo there because I thought it was very beautiful with the carvings on the pillars and the type of pillars deliberately made like this, making it look like a natural., in the yard where I took this photo there is also a goldfish pond where the fish are quite big so the visitors there are even more amazed by this and my wife really likes being in this spot and she keeps asking the fish to talk until I'm a little embarrassed for her. but I'm happy if he's happy with simple things like that. On the other side of the outer yard there are also many trees and a collection of grass which is deliberately maintained so that the mosque looks fresher and between the trees I can see a tall tower which indicates that the building is a mosque.
Then when I entered the main building of the mosque I was even more amazed by the many lights that were deliberately decorated to be very luxurious and the lights were green and there were small lights that twinkled like stars there and when I saw the roof of the mosque I don't know what material this roof is made of, so it looks as if the roof has cavities arranged like books. On the sides of the roof there are also decorations with designs of worship and praise to God.
Then I saw the entrance and the window decoration was very unique, the impression of luxury was felt in this mosque with thick carpets and air conditioning surrounding it so that inside this mosque it looked very cool and the type of partitions in the windows were like roster which is currently very popular. What other materials do you think that I haven't discussed here while they are there in the photo I presented? Help me to see other beauties from a different side than you judge.
