Hello Architecture+Design Lovers, today I want to share the design and architectural inspiration of a mosque located in a tourist area, namely the Alkamal Mosque, this mosque is located on Jalan Jamin Ginting, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This mosque is located on the side of the main road that connects Deli Serdang Regency with Karo Regency, Karo Regency is one of the tourist destinations in North Sumatra Province, therefore this mosque is always crowded with tourists who want to go on an excursion to Tanah Karo.
The design and architecture found in the mosque is a design with the characteristics of the Sumatran Malay tribe. Alkalmal Mosque was built in 1996 to be exact on August 28th. Apart from being a place of worship, this mosque is also a place for religious tourism. In the mosque environment there is an area for children's play, a place to relax, a fish pond and lodging.
in front of the mosque building lies a beautiful view of the Bukit Barisan landscape, this beautiful view makes us feel comfortable when entering the courtyard of the mosque.
When entering the mosque area, we will find a fairly large parking area and cool mountain weather.
when entering the mosque, we will find a clean and comfortable mosque,
From the veranda of the mosque on the right and left sides, we will find large windows that make the room in the mosque feel cool because cool air is free to come in and out of the trellises and windows.
when you enter the mosque, you feel comfortable because the condition of the mosque is clean.
as a barrier for men and women worship there is a curtain that separates a special area for men and women.
I am interested in the design of the decorative lights located on the ceiling of the mosque, it looks beautiful.
on the outside of the walls of the mosque there are many beautiful calligraphy decorations.
on the side of the veranda of the mosque there is a motorbike parking lot and also a small canteen for mosque visitors.
and what attracted the attention of the visitors were the hydroponic plants in the backyard of the mosque, the mosque management provided education for visitors who were interested in gardening with a hydroponic system. they also sell hydroponic vegetables such as mustard greens, pakcoy, tomatoes and lettuce.
it's time to relax while enjoying the natural scenery and cool air.
For visitors who bring children, they can play in the comfortable play area because the grass is thick enough.
in the backyard of the mosque there is also a large fish pond, it looks like this fish pond is wider than the mosque.
one of the sources of pool water comes from a place for ablution, used water for ablution is flowed into the pool through a drain pipe.
Visitors who are tired and want to stay overnight, the mosque management provides lodging at a low cost, around 500,000 rupiah (USD.36). This family inn is located in the very back yard, bordered by a fence, this inn is made of wood which is designed very beautifully with typical Malay architecture.
Visitors who stay in the mosque area can enjoy the view of the fish pond with many beautiful lotus flowers. This beautiful fish pond is located right in front of the inn. visitors can relax and enjoy food on the fish pond while enjoying the natural scenery typical of the mountains.
How about design and architecture lovers, are you interested in making designs made of wood like this?
