The best thing about dreams is that they don't expire. They can lie dormant for years and when you pull them out, the dust goes away and they shine again.

Hello #Architecture+Design community today I am going to tell you about the Ipostel building which is located in the city of Cumaná , near the Miranda square and the Luis mariano Rivera theater.
Ipostel is the old post office of Venezuela, it was the institution that was responsible for receiving correspondence sent from other countries and also nationally, it is worth mentioning that in each state of the country there was a post office where the letters were put, it was a very exciting time where we waited for at least a month the arrival of letters from our relatives and friends who lived far away. Let's remember that at that time there was not the current advance of what is email, whatsapp, facebook, among other means of communication. Communication was done by letter and long before the letter or simultaneous there was what they called the telegram, which were sending short messages where they were communicated some news or important event.
The two main doors are made of wrought iron with a very peculiar design in the lower part in the shape of a circle. Also, at the main entrance at the top is a very popular sign in the city that bears the name of this building (Ipostel), which makes this building a landmark and there is even a bus stop with the name of mail. For the locals this in a very busy and transited place since near it is the two squares and the most important theater of the city.
Something to highlight of the post office as the inhabitants of Cumaná call it is in the front walls which has three murals allusive to important characters of the town. Something to highlight and which caught my attention was to see that despite the years that this building has its walls are still well preserved.
Passing by this place on certain occasions brings nostalgia and at the same time joy in my heart to see how humanity has evolved and there are new means of communication that allow us to be connected with family and friends in real time.
Until a future tour of more of my beautiful city, the First Born of the American Continent.
