Halo Buddies...
I'd heard about this place before from a coworker, but I hadn't had the urge to stop by because I have trust issues with cafes near my office. I'd once searched for a cozy spot but ended up disappointed because social media made it look prettier than it really was. That's why I'm happy to visit the same place over and over again rather than be disappointed after visiting a new one. But Monarki Coffee is a different story.
Monarki Cafe
This place was discovered by Anggrek when we were planning a meeting. When she mentioned the name of Monarki cafe, I immediately looked at the map to estimate the distance from my house. I was then surprised because this cafe is near my office and I immediately remembered that this cafe was mentioned several times. I then agreed to go there without any expectations, and how surprised I was when I saw that this cafe was very close to the main road, and most importantly, this cafe was very cozy. Apparently, when you don't expect you will find something more than you expected and it was fun. At least that was my first impression when I saw the front page of Monarki Coffee.
As you can see, the interior of Monarki Coffee has a calming vibe with a neat, classic, and minimalist layout—CMIWW, combining black, cream, and wood brown. Even though customers come and go, the layout doesn't become cluttered; everything remains just as calming. There are plenty of spots for visitors, both indoors—as you can see above—and outdoors, which are equally appealing.
This outdoor spot is a favorite among smokers, which is why I only took a quick look. The outdoor area has a garden theme, featuring cacti as attractive ornamental plants. There are also several frangipani flowers in pots and the ground is covered in gravel. In this area, smokers can still enjoy their coffee. Still cozy…
Monarki Coffee has three floors. The first floor you just saw, and the second floor is equally beautiful, with views of Jakarta's apartment buildings and offices. The second floor, which only opens from 4 p.m., offers more space for customers. There are individual seats overlooking the building views, and of course, the cacti give the second floor a green feel.
This is view from 3rd floors. You see three similar buildings on the right, that's where my office is located. They're apartments, but there are also many offices below them.
The Menus 🍱🍵
For the coffee, I definitely wanted to try their signature Coffee Latte and Chicken Katsu with Egg. I hadn't had lunch yet, so I ordered the lunch menu. I'd asked Anggrek if they had a heavy menu, since I'm not allowed to drink coffee before eating anything, so when Anggrek said, "Yes," I'm like—okay, let's just have lunch there.
The final dish I chose was Cadbury Tiramisu. When my food and coffee were finished, the tiramisu looked so tempting, I couldn't resist. It was a delicious tiramisu with a soft Cadbury chocolate filling.
Monarki Coffee is truly a comfortable place to simply enjoy a cup of coffee, get some work done, or meeting with your group . I'm itching to go back, perhaps to create a video content like a book unboxing. Hahaha… Cafes these days are designed to make customers feel at home, no matter how the coffee tastes. But the coffee at Monarki Coffee isn't bad, so it's worth the visit.
Hasta La Vista...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
