Grand Tjokro Hotel - Small but Cozy to Staycation with Family

It's been a long time since I stopped by this community to share my experiences on how I encountered various architecture and designs around me. Indeed, I am not an expert in curating an architect's work, but it is still an interesting experience because I encounter things that are—let's call them unusual—in your life. Yes, of course, unusual because usually when you are in a place you don't care about the architecture, right? Sometimes you might only care about the vibe of the environment. That's what I've been doing all this time, maybe I'm trying and learning about the architecture and design of a place, but I'm still a layman.

So, let's go around a place that I visited a few months ago. This is a place that I just visited for the first time and I've fallen in love with its facilities. That is the Grand Tjokro Hotel.

The Architecture of

The lobby of the Grand Tjokro Hotel has a spacious lounge. Usually, guests use it to wait for check-in time, besides that they can also relax in this lounge while reading a book or drinking coffee. And, if you want to waiting while a cup off coffee, there is a small coffee shop on the right corner of the entrance.

Once more fact, besides that, the service is the same as a five-star. All staff are very friendly and helpful. When I came with a large suitcase, the security was ready to help. I really appreciate it.

My Room

My room was on the 8th floor, it was a small room for a big family, but it was enough for 3 or 4 people. Most importantly, I immediately fell in love with this room, which had twin beds, minimalist furniture—I mean really mini, and then a carpet that made my feet warm when I stepped on it. This room was really comfortable.

Of course with a big window that would give you a view—although not too good because it was in the city, but it was nice to look at while drinking warm coffee. So yeah, I was really happy to be able to stay in this comfortable place with my family.

In addition, there is a very comfortable workspace when used. Indeed, the chair is not high enough so that your body will not be parallel to the table, but because the chair is also soft, I can work on something for hours there. Then, this room has many mirrors. They are in front of the closet, in the workspace, and also the sink in the bathroom. If you go with your partner, you will not fight over the mirror when dressing up.

The Facilities

Besides the room, I like the facilities of this hotel. The facilities are the swimming pool and gym. Both are located on the 3rd floor. Seeing the design and decoration on the 3rd floor, I think that this floor can also be used for a family room or group gathering. For example, having a casual chat while watching your family swim. On the 3rd floor, everything looks awesome.

Grand Tjokro Hotel has a unique swimming pool. Its shape is not like the swimming pools in other hotels, which are square or round. This calm pool has a high foundation and a shape—I'm not sure about the shape, but it's very unique. You must want to swim there, right?

In addition to the uniquely shaped swimming pool, they also have a lounge area around the pool. There are beanie bags, bar stools, and also wooden seats on the right. It can be used for those of you who want to see the street activity. In addition, this area is also filled with ornamental plants.

Well, this is the gym area. A guest using the room so I can only show you from here.

Meanwhile, there is the restaurant area. I didn't expect the restaurant area to be so spacious. If you look at the type of hotel, it's like a boutique hotel. However, if you look at the proper restaurant area, it lives up to its name, Gran Hotel—although it's not that big. In this restaurant, there is also a playground for children. Although there are two children's games in this mini playground, I think it really helps the children to stay chill.
