Without a doubt, this building is an emblem for the city and is therefore considered part of the region's heritage due to the fact that it was the first building built in the city of Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state - Venezuela, a city that began with a vigorous progress since the 60s, due to the rise of mining companies and the need to establish an elite city, where everything necessary for workers and the general population could be installed, which was growing due to the great job opportunities.
The C.V.G building, which means Venezuelan corporation of Guayana, an institution in charge of giving the guidelines and administration of all the mining companies in the area, initially this building began to be operated by the electricity company Edelca to then pass to the administration of the C.V.G, which is currently the one that operates in these facilities and has been for many years.
This work was completed between 1967-1968, being the first building in the desert area of Alta Vista as it is currently known, built to carry out certain administrative operations of the emerging companies of the time. The architect in charge of this work is the Venezuelan Jesús Tenreiro Degwitz, who knew how to understand the dimensions and spaces to create this work of art, taking into account the terrain, the climate and even the influence of a jungle climate and the so-called Guayana massif, a land that is composed of a series of very important minerals.
On the other hand, at first glance, the design can be seen to have a pyramidal shape, where the architect took the influence of ancient works such as those of the Egyptians, but with the difference that it is a stepped form in the formation of the pyramid-shaped structure, in which it can be seen that it has all its brick cladding with metal structures, in addition to the influence of the chromatic perspective.
Its location is in a central point of the city, a mostly commercial and financial area, in addition to certain urban developments around it, as well as the simple fact of being in the highest part of the city, and having great access roads for almost any place you want to go.
There is no doubt that this edition has been a symbol of this city since its beginning, thus creating the image at that time as a modern and planned city that for decades was growing, until a certain point in our history when said progress was stopped by economic problems of the country, which had a great impact on this building that a few years ago was a little neglected, but even so its foundations are so strong that it still endures, and little by little they have begun to give it maintenance, because it is considered a heritage of Venezuelan and even world architecture, an example of what this city could have been if this constant growth were not stopped and sometimes I could imagine this metropolis as one of the main ones in the world and above all in perfect harmony with nature.
