Shadow Hunting?
Seriously, how difficult can it get?! Besides, it I only need to find shadows, which are basically everywhere!
But yup! It is definitely a challenge for me.
I've been wanting to join the Shadow Hunters' Challenge for quite some time now. It's been a while since I last attempted and they were horrendously meh, and I end up not joining. LOL.
Just in case you are interested to see the "meh" Shadow Hunters contributions, then see these. Please don't be harsh. 🙈

If you think I've already made my point, at how bad I am at this, here's another example I took a couple of months back.
I was trying to take a photo of the shadow of the flower of this fountain grass. If I remember correctly, my hands were quite full at the time and I was quite anxious to be seen flipping myself around, trying to get a good shot. Hence, a complete fail. Nonetheless, my shadow looked so slim and tall, so is that a plus?!
Taking Shadow Hunting to A-Level
Thankfully, I've come across 's post, How to hit the mark when you shadow hunt - A guide. There are really useful tips in there.
just passion, personality and effort, in-focus and interesting photos and a supporting story, thought or explanation of the images
Oh yeah, now we're talking. And boy, oh boy! His photos are really impressive. Thought out of the box.
Passion. Personality. Effort.
Simple? Can be. For those with a heart to what they do.
Now the following are not the best, a million lightyears afar from galenkp's work. These are still random photos that I've "hunted" from my smartphone's gallery. There's still lots of room to grow.
Passion & Personality
If you see my blogs, these mainly revolve around my children whom I homeschool. I'm with them 24/7 these days, so my phone gallery is filled with photos and videos of them.
Here's my Little Miss, practicing her kicks! No, you don't wanna be messing around with her. She really can kick as$!
Make our fingers long!
Here's my two playing with their shadows. They're so amused at how long the shadows of their fingers become when they touch the wall.
Oh, did you notice how I was successfully able to avoid photographing my shadow? Nah, nothing special there. Just the sun being at the right place. 😅
Last week, as we were walking along the park, we stopped for a while and while the kids were busy playing, I thought it would be nice to attempt shadow hunting again.
The sun was too bright and I honestly couldn't see my phone's display. I thought I got a nice shadow of the shed and the tree. Well, if not only for my children's slippers scattered there! 🤦♀️
Effort? More required. Lol.
Bonus from the homeschool activities.
A few weeks ago, the and I had a fun Science activity on Optics. Towards the end of our activity, I thought, why don't we make our own rainbows?
You know, a rainbow from a glass of water?
Oh well, I think we did not make a rainbow here, but at least there's a nice shadow, right?
Here's another one from my eyeglasses. Simply, I took it off and raised it to see what reflections it can make. Well, nothing such as reflections, but I think it made a good shadow. Don't you think?
Wheew! It was a challenging hunt but really fun, too! I will have to pay more attention to my subjects henceforth, and make sure that I will have worthwhile photos to share in this community.
Until then!
