Mi fin de semana fue muy tranquilo y me puse a trabajar en una figura de papel para mi colección y al final me llevé una gran sorpresa al terminar el origami y es que al lado aparece una pequeña sombra sobre la mesa, como si el conejar tuviera un acompañante y ambos posando para la fotografía. La fotografía es sencilla, pero lo que me llama la atención es como algo puede cambiar dependiendo de la luz. Aquí el origami está firme sobre la mesa, pero detrás de eso hay algo escondido que sirve perfectamente para acompañar a la figura original.
My weekend was very quiet, so I started working on a paper figure for my collection. When I finished the origami, I was in for a big surprise: there was a small shadow on the table next to it, as if the rabbit had a companion and they were both posing for the photo. The photo is simple, but what catches my attention is how something can look different depending on the light. Here, the origami stands firmly on the table, but behind it there’s something hidden that serves perfectly as a companion to the original figure.
Las sombra en ese caso es lo que resalta y se lleva el protagonista, donde el origami y la sombra cada uno cuenta una historia, para así poder crear una gran combinación en una sola escena. En este caso el conejo de papel es una manualidad y la sombra proyecta firmeza. Por ende paso de estar tranquilo, quieto a estar abajo la luz acompañado de una sombra.
En ese caso las sombras siempre estarán presente en cada momento, porque nos recuerdan que incluso las cosas más simples tienen un acompañante, que solo está cuando la luz aparece.
In this case, the shadow is what stands out and takes center stage, where the origami and the shadow each tell a story, creating a powerful combination within a single scene. Here, the paper rabbit is a craft, and the shadow conveys strength. Thus, it transitions from being calm and still to standing beneath the light, accompanied by a shadow.
In this case, shadows will always be present at every moment, because they remind us that even the simplest things have a companion, one that is only there when the light appears.
