Over a week ago, I travelled by coach down to London. It takes about an hour from the outskirts of the city to arrive at the coach station. Depending on the traffic, there is a lot of stopping and starting, so if it's a sunny day, I occupy myself by looking for shadows on the pavement. I spotted this bicycle parked up, so I quickly took a photo. The problem with taking photos through the window is that you get some reflections. I had to edit the shot slightly, as I realised I could see the sleeve of the passenger sitting in front of me in the photo! It didn’t turn out too badly, though.
This is my entry to the Shadow Hunter's Contest - Round 422.
I think this is a mixture of shadow and reflection. The dark shapes are shadows from the glass. The bright shapes are caused by the light passing through the glass, and distorting the shapes. Even with the wine, I still didn’t win playing rummikub!
It's a simple scene, but you can't beat a cup of coffee at the end of the day.
Thank you to and the team for running the Shadow Hunter's Contest .
