to celebrate 400 we decided to visit a small island called Vikerøy. it's very close to the mainland so there is a peculiar drawbridge to cross to get to the island, but it is only permitted for residents and guests to drive across. so we walked. while walking we stopped to observe the school of minnows in the water just under and around the bridge.
a very interesting pattern formed on the surface where water flowing under the bridge met with the open water on the other side, and together with the wind it appeared like rays of ripples were spreading from a couple of points in the channel. by luck the sun was in a position such that by standing in the right spot i was able to cast my shadow at those points. the orange spots or streaks are not confetti from our celebration but rather minnows catching the sun in the water. these photos have been edited to enhance the effect, but not to create it
this shot of the two of us has only been slightly edited but it was fun to play around with it making this next version below
the above photo with the shadow of the superstructure of the drawbridge is an unedited original with an edited version below
a sincere thanks to the shadow hunters team for their dedicated efforts to reach 400 and i hope to be able to post here when 500 comes around.
