MOON SHADOWS ON THE NEW TRUCK
Just last week my hubby bought himself a new truck, well it's new to him. He purchased a gently used pick up truck for running around the homestead. It's a beauty.
This pure white Ram truck comes with a king cab and a bittersweet story. Just a little over a year ago my son's best friend, Brian, AKA Uncle "T", passed away in his sleep, a heart attack at the young age of 38. It was heartbreaking for all who knew this gentle-man.
My son and Brian met in kindergarten and became friends, the best of friends that traveled through not only school together but also went to the same church. We met his family every Sunday at the 10:30 mass which was held in the parish gym. Since it was considered the children's mass, a large congregation always showed up there since the main church was too small to hold such a large group.
Brian and Derrick were always together, from sports, to classes, to weekends away at our farm. The were like peanut butter and jelly. I just adored Brian, he was such a goofy kid, always joking around, happy to be alive.
After "T" passed away, his mother gave the truck to my son, such a nice gesture to have such a big part of Brian, this truck had his signature all over it. But after a year or so the truck started to show signs of aging from no use at all. That truck just sat in the backyard collecting dust, pollen and tree branches. It no longer would even turn on, the battery died and the interior was getting moldy from the changes of weather. It was looking sad.
was in need of a farm truck, something he could just run around the homestead with or use to go the dumps with garbage and debris. A few weekends ago we were down in New Jersey visiting my son and as we sat on his back deck we could see that nice white truck was no longer looking like Brian's truck since he always kept it immaculate.
Next thing I know, the talk of buying this RAM was on the table contingent upon Brian's Mom giving her blessings. With all the history of Brian and my son being at the farm together, as kids as well as adults, (he was like a 4th son to me,) Mrs. "T" was thrilled with the idea. She knew it would be put to good use and the memories of Brian would live on.
With a little TLC, and a few new parts, our new truck is running like a champ!
Thanks Brian, we love and miss you!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
This is my entry into this week's #shadowhunters contest!
