IN THE WARMTH AND THE SUNSHINE.
We landed in Cape Coral Florida on January 27, took us two days to get there, some 1300 plus miles driving. But after doing this trip for five years in a row, it was a breeze. We left Upstate NY in 12 degree weather, nuff said.
The old birds headed south for the winter, or for a good part of it, we would be gone from the homestead for at least 6 weeks. We arrived looking for warm weather and sunshine only to hear warning, chance of frost tonight which is crazy for this part of the USA. There were frost warnings for this part of Southwest Florida, first time ever in the last 20 years. It's stressful for the orange, lemon and lime growers, just one deep frost can kill their entire harvest.
Thankfully, the frost never set in, but it sure cooled our private pool, good thing the hubby knew how to crank up the heat, we swam in 90 degree water, oh so good.
Within a day or two, Mother Nature blessed us with exactly what we had been searching for, warmth and sunshine.
Our rental was just perfect, with privacy and a beautiful home to share with my family. Three of my 4 children managed to get away and visit, it was a blast, very special for us old snowbirds. We had a Superbowl party while they were there, it was a surf and turf extravaganza, the grill was going all day, as was cornhole games, swimming and laughing and loving every minute we spent with those we love the most. and I are so blessed, and I thank the heavens everyday.
It was the perfect place to find #reflections
Life is good, share the love, share the joy, spread the message of hope.
Spring is just around the corner for our part of the world and with it comes a sense of renewal. May we all find peace and joy through love of nature and all the beauty mankind has to offer.
