One of the spots we visited on Christmas Day was the Bessang Pass Monument in Ilocos Sur which accordingly was erected to honor those who fought the Japanese during the 1945 war. In the same place, we climbed up what I would like to call the "stairway to heaven" haha.
I didn't count the number of steps we took but it was a good climb. The sky was clear and the weather was gorgeous and on such a bright day, shadows were everywhere. Of course, we didn't let the chance pass and captured some of them to our hearts' content.
One could hardly miss the patterns on the steps and here's to share some cool ones.
As we ascended and conquered each set of stairs, we couldn't help looking back at where we started. No, it wasn't a hard climb. It was easy peasy, haha!
And looking up, there were a few people who were already nearing the top. Good for them, huh!
These were by the short stairway leading to the comfort rooms. I just loved the jagged-like shadows.
Moving up, we turned left toward the narrow walkway where we rested for a bit. This shot was taken from there. The top wasn't that far! What could be up there? I wondered...
There wasn't any information by the entrance so we didn't know what to expect. After the short rest, we continued with the climb where more shadows were found and photographed.
As to what was up there, that would be for another day but here's a photo hint😅 Refreshing view, isn't it?
Anyhow, we spent a good amount of time there, capturing more photos and what else. There were other people and one of the groups was having an informal pre-wedding pictorial.
Here's a view of the shaded seating space that welcomed us at the topmost step of the stairway.
Then it was time to go down. Forgive me but I just can't help sharing quite a lot of these photos, even when they all looked similar, lol!
And yep, this is my participation in Round 302 of the Shadow Hunting Challenge by Melinda. It's been a long time :)
We're just a little over 24 hours from New Year's Eve and I hope things are well with you all as we do our preparations or so.
Meanwhile, it's packing time for us because the whole clan is headed for an adventure tomorrow morning. It's exciting for it is the first family getaway after our usual tradition got halted during the pandemic years.
All the best everyone and Cheers to the coming new year!
