Cervantes, in the first episodes of his immortal work, caused the knight Don Quixote de la Mancha to have a dangerous encounter with them, considering them dangerous giants.
Considered one of the great Cervantes myths, the La Mancha windmills, that is, the giants that the feverish knight saw in his blessed madness, are, at present, a symbol that defines a very particular time and region of Spain : La Mancha.
It is not surprising, therefore, that they have become a focus of cultural attraction, which receives a large influx of visitors and tourists, willing to contemplate with their own eyes, those terrible giants that the fantasy of Miguel de Cervantes wanted to face with his immortal character.
