Last January, I traveled to Caracas to attend the Graduation Ceremony of the eldest of my two sons, after having successfully completed their university studies.

I stayed three days in the capital of the republic, time in which I took the opportunity to visit El Hatillo, a small town located near the city, and which is characterized by having preserved the colonial architecture of their homes, many of which today, were conditioned to house shops, restaurants and ice cream parlors, among other places of entertainment.

I walked through the narrow and steep streets of this town that I used to visit frequently many years ago, when I attended the university, so it brings back very good and pleasant memories.

In the central part of the town, in front of the church and the local mayor's office, is located the Plaza Bolivar (Bolivar Square), a public space dedicated to the memory of the Father of the Homeland, as is usual in all Venezuelan towns, regardless of their size. There, I took this pair of photos, where it is possible to observe how the shadow of this tree located on the periphery of the square is projected towards the street.

El pasado mes de Enero, viajé a Caracas para asistir al Acto de Grado del mayor de mis dos hijos, tras haber culminado satisfactoriamente sus estudios universitarios.

Permanecí tres días en la capital de la república, tiempo en el cual aproveché para visitar El Hatillo, un pequeño poblado ubicado en las cercanías de la ciudad, y que se caracteriza por haber conservado la arquitectura colonial de sus viviendas, muchas de las cuales hoy en día, fueron acondicionadas para albergar locales comerciales, restaurantes y heladerías, entre otros lugares de esparcimiento.

Recorrí a pié las estrechas y empinadas calles de este pueblo que acostumbraba a visitar con frecuencia muchos años atrás, cuando asistía a la universidad, por lo que me trae muy buenos y gratos recuerdos.

En el casco central, frente a la iglesia y a la sede de la alcaldía local, está ubicada la Plaza Bolívar, un espacio público dedicado a la memoria del Padre de la Patria, como es usual en todas las poblaciones venezolanas, independientemente de su tamaño. Allí, tomé este par de fotos, donde es posible observar como se proyecta hacia la calle, la sombra de este árbol situado en la periferia de la plaza.
