This is my entry photo for the Shadow Hunters Community contest 423. Thanks to for hosting this great contest.

Yesterday, while I was out looking for shadows, I stumbled upon a stunning shadow of a protective metal structure and decided to take a photo. I thought about how, if this metal shield wasn’t in place, the building with all the children playing nearby could be quite hazardous since the kids wouldn’t be safe in that environment. A lot of thoughts raced through my mind; although I’m unaware of the specific dangers, the saying "prevention is better than cure" comes to mind. Instead of waiting for accidents to happen, we install protectors throughout open areas.

The second half of what I caught is a railing on a staircase in my multi-storey building. It has been very helpful, especially for the elderly who find it hard to climb stairs. My aunt visited us recently, and she complained about how exhausting it was to go up four floors. She held onto the railings to help her make it up.
I took this photo because maybe one day there will be an elevator there. For now, the railing has been useful and supportive.
