Like so often when I scroll through my Lightroom catalogue I stumble across some almost forgotten photos. It happens when you shoot a lot. And I used to shoot.a.lot! These days I am not as trigger happy anymore.
I still shoot a lot, but recently more with my iPhone, because I am too lazy to lug around the DSLR. I just got a couple of lenses for my iPhone and cannot wait to take them to the test. But these photos here were shot with my trusty Nikon D800 and the even trustier lens 70-200mm VR.
It was an early morning late August in a still sleepy Washington coastal town. I was out for a walk, or was it a 'walk-a-jog'? and at the end I took a few minutes sitting at the beach and watching fishermen bring in their catch while hungry seagulls kept waiting for their share.
Which is when I spotted this seagull who had found a clam for breakfast. The gull was strutting around, back and forth and then suddenly took off. I followed her with my lens to the point when the gull let the clam drop from high up to crack it open upon impact.
However, I am not sure it was able to enjoy its catch, because it kept walking here and there and didn't seem to find the clam. Too bad for the gull, lucky for the clam 😇.
