Hey everyone, glad to be participating in another photo contest.
I have been putting together my travel blog, and this entry is from that assembly of photos and stories. But it has not gone live yet, so you all will get a little sneak peek, here.
I was in Japan at the end of 2022-Nov, and just kind of wandering around looking at things I've never seen before around Tokyo.
I ventured into one of the largest shrine or temple complexes I can recall, located near the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. After a walk through the complex, reaching the main shrine or temple, I spotted some kind of ikebana display in the buildings surrounding the shrine. My entry is from that moment of the trip.
But for some set up, here is the shrine:
In the picture above, if you look really closely:
- Starting at the 2 people in the foreground facing each other
- Move left from their heads
- Another person behind them
- A tower with a green roof
- Hand railing
- Just above that hand railing is a building. That building was shaped like an "L".
These photos (and the entry) were taken over there.
It seems there was an ikebana gathering of some kind. And I grow orchids for fun, so I was immediately drawn to the arrangements that had orchids.

But we aren't here for flowers now are we. So, here is my entry of "reflection". I went to Japan in 2022-Nov and just saw this reflection in this photo last week, so it felt ghostly almost.
Sure, the handrail that found you to this building is reflected here.
But look at the reflection of the flowers and pot on the red plate. This is the reflection I am entering.
It is almost like this entry to the ikebana exhibition is twice as big, compared to the other two.
So there we have it. I hope the story is as intriguing as the reflection itself.
Good luck everyone, and thanks for letting me participate and see all your wonderful photos also.
