This is my entry to the reflection Hunters Contest-Round 19
The peace and the serenity of watching the waterlilies dance above the water to rhythm of the wind and the fishes playing with their refection below is poetry in water. It stills the mind as you stare in wonder at creation and the praise the Lord of creation.
I love the stillness here which allowed for a clear reflection of the waterlily blooms, the plumeria (frangipani) saplings around, even the bonsai trees on their tables and the thick woods in the distance. Just a cable running through the place distracts from the beauty of the scene.
The reflection of this water lily is so amazing in that it doesn't just reflect this flower alone but also the water dripping from it which makes it seem even more cool with those extra curves. A bird had a few minutes plunged himself in that pond and splashed the water around.
The black fish still seems happy, but the beauty of the reflection of the trees around has been disturbed by the birds dip earlier. I was more interested in the shape of the flower and how it looks in the stirred water now trying to find stillness.
Reflections are somehow very tantalizing (at least to me), we do not have too many water-bodies around here, maybe that is why it is special to me.
The lakes here have high fences around them as there are too many young people falling in intentionally or unintentionally.
Many such waterlily ponds have also given way to fountains as maintenance is a huge issue for the park staff. The birds and crowds of people don't make it easier for them either.
Even this pond has dried up now after the pandemic struck us the first time. It is so sad that when we finally can visit these places after the lock down has been lifted and a semblance of normalcy has been restored these will just remain a memories.
