Good afternoon, everyone!
The bridge you see ahead is called the Gimonde Bridge and it's located in a town with the same name, Gimonde, near the city of Bragança, in the Northeast of Portugal.
This is my entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest - Round 42, hosted by , in The Shadow Hunters Comunity.
The locals called it Ponte Velha (The Old Bridge) since it has been built a very long time ago, in the Roman Empire era. Of course it was maintained and altered a bit through the times or else it would have collapsed already.
The arches you see are not original, they were added somewhere in the Middle Ages, to make the bridge more resistant.
The day was cold but the sun was shining behind me, which gave me the opportunity for an excellent shot, with a crystal clear reflection of the trees and the bridge on the river. 😎
You can also see a sort of tower to the left which has been conquered in recent years by a family of storks! 😆
This structure was built to prevent damage from the dead tree, when it falls down. It's just a question of time... so the town's folks aren't taking any chances.
While I was taking these shots a small visitor appeared to investigate the storks nests, taking the chance to browse around while the owners were out for lunch.
It looks like the family was smart enough to hide its treasures because the little thief went away empty winged! He looked a bit disappointed. 😂
