Shadows Beside the Pool
These days I continue staying at the hotel because of the fuel situation and the transportation difficulties that have become part of daily life. Walking through the hotel areas, many spaces now feel quieter than usual, especially around the pools.
Near one of them, there are several movable cabanas with lounge chairs inside, designed so tourists can rest protected from the strong Cuban sun. This time, however, what caught my attention was not the structures themselves, but the shadows they projected on the ground.
The morning light stretched the shapes of those cabanas across the pavement, creating geometric shadows that seemed almost more alive than the empty resting areas themselves. Even without tourists around, the shadows remained there, silently occupying the space and reminding me of the purpose those places once had every day.
The photos were taken with my mobile phone, and for the English version I used Google Translate.

Sombras junto a la piscina
Por estos días continúo quedándome en el hotel debido a la situación del combustible y las dificultades con el transporte que ya forman parte de la rutina diaria. Caminando por las áreas del hotel, muchos espacios se sienten ahora más silenciosos de lo habitual, especialmente alrededor de las piscinas.
Cerca de una de ellas hay varias marquesinas móviles con tumbonas en su interior, pensadas para que los turistas puedan descansar protegidos del fuerte sol cubano. Esta vez, sin embargo, lo que llamó mi atención no fueron las estructuras en sí, sino las sombras que proyectaban sobre el suelo.
La luz de la mañana alargaba las formas de esas marquesinas sobre el pavimento, creando sombras geométricas que parecían tener más vida que las propias áreas de descanso vacías. Incluso sin turistas alrededor, las sombras seguían allí, ocupando el espacio en silencio y recordando el propósito que esos lugares tenían cada día.
Las fotos fueron tomadas con el móvil y para la versión en inglés utilicé el traductor de Google.
