Nancy came from working in a large hospital to a small town where she had moved, being a single mother, she needed to have more control over the activities of her teenage daughter, more supervision, because she was in the difficult age, so she sought to move to a quieter place, like that place, for her more relaxed and full of many families, it was a good place to raise children.
It was not difficult for her to get a job, being a registered nurse she had several options, the small hospital or the rest home, where there were different types of people, already at advanced ages, who were confined there by relatives or different institutions, there were people with Alzheimer's, others with other types of affectations or who had some physical impediment and who because of their advanced ages needed medical attention.
Nancy soon adapted to that place, although sometimes she felt sorry for some of the elderly, because no one went to visit them, among them there was a man in wheelchairs, who was always alone and that only a specific staff was in charge of him, some nuns who also helped the elderly, were in charge of handling their needs, no nurse did it.
Some of them had medical knowledge and degrees, so on that side was well served, but Maria found this very curious, she tried to ask slyly, but the answer she received was to be content with attending to others and not to approach this gentleman, it was not necessary. Nancy could only observe him, she realized that he had no mobility, only that heavy look.
That made you know that he was there. One day they had taken him out to the garden to sunbathe and had left him for a while, that was the routine, but they almost never left him alone for long. Almost always there were some of these little nuns praying or reading the bible to him. Suddenly it began to rain in torrents, with lightning and so on, everyone ran to the house, but apparently no one noticed that the Lord was still in the park.
Nancy tried to tell one of the nuns, but curiously none of them were around, so when she saw that the poor man was getting soaked and no one was helping him, she decided to go to him and try to get him to safety, but when she got to him, the wind picked up and began to form small whirlpools around them both. Nancy was frightened, but nonetheless, she hurried to grab the wheelchair and push it home with him.
When the old man, seeing what she was trying to do, tried to look at her desperately, with much terror, Nancy was a little disturbed when she saw that strange look, as if he wanted to warn her something, but she didn't flinch she pushed him and took him to the living room. The little nuns came running and took the man away from her, scolding her and telling her that she should not have touched him or approached him, to which Nancy was perplexed, she had only done her job.
After that, she tried to find out what was wrong with that poor old man. Nobody gave her an answer that would convince her, but soon she realized that whatever it was, it was affecting her, she began to have terrible nightmares, where horrible creatures were stalking and chasing her, it all started when she approached the old man.
Soon, the physical and emotional deterioration was reflected in her, she began to suffer from insomnia, because her nightmares were very real, soon she began to feel stalked, watched, she began to believe that she was losing her mind. But the nuns and everyone noticed the change, so they decided to try to help her, because they already knew what Nancy had.
At that point they told her why she shouldn't go near that specific old man. It turns out that this old man had been disturbed and besieged by demonic entities several years ago as a result of an evil that had been practiced on him, reason why he had been left without family, partner or children, some had died or had left him, these things had martyred him all his life, it was an open secret in the village, it was said that he had fallen in love with a witch and she had bewitched him for the rest of his life.
Nancy could not believe what she was hearing, now that she was not spiritually prepared to protect herself, she had been a perfect target for wanting to help him. These things attacked the unwary, who were unaware of these forces. Nancy, together with the nuns and the village priest, began to pray and to learn all the prayers to try to prepare herself spiritually, to be able to contain everything that now persecuted her, they even tried to perform an exorcism on her.
Years went by, Nancy had to move because her daughter soon left home, everything had gone so bad since then, she tried to look for her closest family, but her parents died and didn't even tell her, and the only sister she had, moved out of the country without leaving her address or anything. She found herself alone, with no one, the only thing was that her parents had left her a good inheritance and she could support herself very well, but alone.
If you wonder what happened to those things that haunted her, who told them that they were gone? Well, no, because every time someone wanted to establish some kind of relationship with her, they are present and soon whoever it is leaves in terror, not wanting to see her anymore, only when they move away is that Nancy can appease that, with those old prayers that those little nuns taught her in those days in that place .....
