VIENEN DE LA MONTAÑA
Allá viene entre sombras
por el camino desolado
mientras viene a su lado
su perro que lo acompaña
desde las altas montañas
los dos vienen cansados.
El perro saca la lengua
para beber del viento
y calmarse la sed
que va tragando su aliento
va jadeando de cansancio
pero no se detiene
paso a paso viene
con su amo que con el viene.
De una vara torcida
con el tiempo pulida
es el bastón del viejo
que afinca su paso
y el bastón agita
para rayar el camino
por donde transita.
Los dos seres vienen
de buscar el carbón
de la cúspide montañosa
de allá donde raya el sol
para encender en su choza
en las noches heladas
cenizas vuelan como grillos
de vuelos por la ensenada.
THEY COME FROM THE MOUNTAIN
There he comes between shadows
along the desolate road
while coming to your side
his dog that accompanies him
from the high mountains
They both come tired.
The dog sticks out its tongue
to drink from the wind
and quench your thirst
that he is swallowing his breath
he is panting from exhaustion
but he doesn't stop
step by step comes
with the love of him that comes with him.
From a crooked rod
polished over time
It's the old man's cane
that settles its step
and the staff shakes
to pave the way
where he travels.
The two beings come
to look for coal
from the mountain peak
from where the sun shines
to light in your hut
on frozen nights
ashes fly like crickets
of flights through the cove.
