Hace unas semanas, por motivo de la reciente Beca de Escritura Creativa y Edición Literaria que gané por la UNESCO, les dejé un post sobre tips de técnicas Narrativas Los retos de la ficción. Tips de técnicas narrativas que tuvo muy buena aceptación, siendo lo más votado de todo lo que he publicado hasta ahora. Me hace feliz saber que ese tipo de contenido agrada y sirve a la comunidad de Hive. Pronto estaré dejándoles otros post relacionados, esta vez, iré organizando el contenido por géneros literarios entre otros tópicos importantes a tener en cuenta para el proceso de creación escritural.

Tips de técnicas narrativas that was very well received, being the most voted of all that I have published so far. It makes me happy to know that this type of content is appreciated and serves the Hive community. Soon I will be leaving you other related posts, this time, I will be organizing the content by literary genres among other important topics to take into account for the creation process.
Mientras tanto les comento un poco sobre cómo van los cursos en esta primera semana. El lunes a las nueve de la mañana fue la inauguración, en la sede de la Galería de Cairo Estudio, ubicada en calle 24, entre 17 y 19, Vedado. La Beca, coordinada por Aurelia Ediciones, editorial del reconocido escritor cubano Leonardo Padura, es auspiciada por la Unión Europea a través de la UNESCO y la Embajada Suiza. Esa mañana cada una de las partes explicó sobre sus colaboraciones con este proyecto.

Meanwhile, I'll tell you a little about how the courses are going in this first week. Monday at nine in the morning was the inauguration of the courses, at the headquarters of the Cairo Estudio Gallery, located on Calle 24, between 17 and 19, Vedado. The Scholarship, coordinated by Aurelia Ediciones, publisher of the renowned Cuban writer Leonardo Padura, is sponsored by the European Union through UNESCO and the Swiss Embassy. That morning each of the parties explained about their collaborations with this project.

La primera conferencia que recibimos fue acerca de "¿Cómo escribir una novela?", inaugurando de ese modo el Curso de Escritura Creativa y la impartió el propio Leonardo Padura. Fue grato el espacio, tiempo en el que pude consolidar contenidos que recibí hace casi una década cuando me gradué del Centro de Formación Literaria Onelio Jorge Cardoso, tenía entre 17 y 18 años. Por aquel entonces también tuve la oportunidad de recibir conferencias por este maestro del género novelesco. El martes comenzamos el curso de Edición en las tardes, siguiendo con el ritmo del de Escritura Creativa en las mañanas. Los días han sido intensos, largas horas de conferencias; a veces cuesta porque hace ya unos años terminé ese ritmo de estudiante universitaria y una se desacostumbra de esas rutinas, pero sin dudas está siendo una muy buena experiencia para sumar conocimientos. Sobre todo los talleres en el aula son muy provechosos. Compartir con jóvenes escritores o editores, nutre y retroalimenta nuestros procesos creativos, sobre todo cuando venimos de varias nacionalidades y campos de estudio. El profe de Edición, el argentino Martín Bertoni es un tipo divertidísimo, que logra un ambiente muy familiar y ameno en el aula. Ya hemos ido tocando algunas temáticas relacionadas a: los distintos tipos de edición acorde a géneros, el proceso editorial, la obtención del producto libro, y los pasos que lleva ese proceso dentro del sistema editorial. En la Escritura Creativa hemos ido viendo consejos de redacción y estilo recomendados por Mario Vargas Llosa, que como sabemos ha sido un gran ensayista en cuanto a las temáticas de Teoría Literaria y de técnicas Narrativas, también vimos el Decálogo del Narrador, de Horacio Quiroga, consejos de Abelardo Castillo, Octavio Paz, entre muchos otros. Las recomendaciones de lecturas llueven durante todo el día, ya les estaré dejando en próximos post mis consideraciones al respecto. Muy emocionante han sido las conferencias sobre tipologías de libros y tipografías en el diseño editorial, resulta un universo de información interesantísimo y sobre todo novedoso para quienes estamos al otro lado en enfrascados en la creación. Ellos, los editores y diseñadores son los magos de nuestras obras, los que le dan color.

The first conference we received was about "How to write a novel?", thus inaugurating the Creative Writing Course and it was given by Leonardo Padura himself. The space was pleasant, a time in which I was able to consolidate content that I received almost a decade ago when I graduated from the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Center, I was between 17 and 18 years old. At that time I also had the opportunity to receive lectures by this master of the novelesco genre. On Tuesday we start the Editing course in the afternoons, following the rhythm of the Creative Writing course in the mornings. The days have been intense, long hours of conferences; Sometimes it's hard because a few years ago I finished that rhythm of a university student and one becomes unaccustomed to those routines, but without a doubt it is being a very good experience to add knowledge. Especially the workshops in the classroom are very helpful. Sharing with young writers or editors nourishes and feeds back our creative processes, especially when we come from various nationalities and fields of study. The Publishing teacher, the Argentinian Martín Bertoni is a hilarious guy, who achieves a very familiar and pleasant atmosphere in the classroom. We have already been touching on some topics related to: the different types of edition according to genres, the editorial process, obtaining the book product, and the steps that this process takes within the editorial system. In Creative Writing we have been looking at writing and style tips recommended by Mario Vargas Llosa, who, as we know, has been a great essayist in terms of Literary Theory and Narrative techniques, we also saw the Decalogue of the Narrator by Horacio Quiroga, tips of Abelardo Castillo, Octavio Paz, among many others. The reading recommendations rain all day, and I will be leaving you in the next post my considerations about it. The conferences on typologies of books and typographies in editorial design have been very exciting. It is a universe of interesting and, above all, novel information for those of us who are on the other side immersed in creation. They, the editors and designers, are the magicians of our works, the ones who give it colour.
Entre los profes que hemos tenido el placer de conocer está Pepe Menéndez, Premio Nacional de Diseño en 2021. Jefe del Departamento de Edición y Diseño de Casa de las Américas. Debo confesar que han sido sus clases las que más he disfrutado. Me quedé extasiada con todos los tipos de libros que existen, las nomenclatura que usan para llamarles. Pensaba yo que conocía respuestas a preguntas tan básicas como: ¿qué cosa es un libro? ¿Qué lo caracteriza? ¿Cómo están conformados? Etc. Pero no, solo tenía una vaga idea, ahora sí sé, y ustedes también sabrán cuando les vaya dejando los otros post referidos a cada temática con los contenidos recibidos en los cursos.
Por ahora me despido, prometiéndoles dejarles por aquí unas publicaciones seriadas con los tips sobre literatura, edición y diseño editorial 🤗.
Among the professors we have had the pleasure of meeting is Pepe Menéndez, National Design Award in 2021. Head of the Publishing and Design Department at Casa de las Américas. I must confess that his classes have been the ones that I have enjoyed the most. I was ecstatic with all the types of books that exist, the nomenclature they use to call them. I thought I knew answers to questions as basic as: what is a book? What characterize it? How are they made up? Etc. But no, I only had a vague idea, now I do know, and you will also know when I leave the other posts referring to each subject with the content received in the courses.
