¡Hola amigos amantes de la lectura! El día de hoy les trago la reseña de un libro maravilloso de mi escritora favorita J.K Rowling, más conocida por ser la autora de la saga Harry Potter. En esta ocasión nos trae una trama totalmente diferente, nada épica, ni fantástica, así que espero que la disfruten conmigo.
Hello my reading friends! Today I bring you the review of a wonderful book by my favourite author J.K Rowling, best known for being the author of the Harry Potter saga. This time she brings us a totally different plot, nothing epic, nothing fantastic, so I hope you enjoy it with me.
Para muchos ésta es una novela un poco más "adulta" de J.K Rowling, algo de lo que difiero porque no creo en lo absoluto que los últimos libros de Harry Potter hayan sido precisamente para niños ya que fueron muy bélicos en mi opinión, e incluso trataban temas políticos como la supremacía o la hegemonía, de los cuales los niños no tenían ni idea.
For many people this is a more "adult" J.K Rowling novel, which I disagree with because I don't think the last Harry Potter books were at all for children as they were very warlike in my opinion, and even dealt with political issues such as supremacy or hegemony that children had no idea about.

The town of Pagford in England is shaken by the death of an important councillor. The town is immediately divided into two camps, those who want to carry on the councillor's legacy and those who are fighting each other to fill the casual vacancy he left behind.
La versión de este libro que yo leí está en inglés, pero creo que en todas las versiones está distribuido de la misma manera, en siete partes que se dividen en subcapítulos.

Al principio, bueno, las primeras 200 páginas de las 600 que tiene el libro, sentí la trama un poco lenta ya que hay demasiado personajes y J.K Rowling nos habla sobre cada uno de ellos con el objetivo de que los conozcamos a fondo, no obstante lo hace de manera tan profunda que los torna casi reales y sientes que son personajes que te puedes encontrar en la vida cotidiana de cualquier comunidad.
At the beginning, well, the first 200 pages of the 600 pages of the book, I felt the plot was a bit slow as there are too many characters and J.K Rowling talks about each one of them with the aim of getting to know them in depth, but she does it in such a deep way that makes them almost real and you feel that they are characters that you can find in the daily life of any community.
Precisamente lo bueno de «Una Vacante Imprevista» está en la diversidad de personajes, porque cada uno tiene muchos matices y aportan algo a la historia (son demasiados, es cierto, pero muy valiosos) cada familia tiene una subtrama, pero todos convergen en el mismo punto, las historias de estos personajes ayudan a «calentar la trama» y a hacerla más dinámica, y en esto este libro me recuerda mucho a «Cien Años de Soledad» de Gabriel García Márquez con su gran cantidad de personajes donde abundaban los «Aurelianos»
Precisely the good thing about "A Casual Vacancy" is in the diversity of characters, because each one has many nuances and contributes something to the story (there are too many, it's true, but very valuable) each family has a subplot, but all converge at the same point, the stories of these characters help to "heat up the plot" and make it more dynamic, and this book reminds me a lot of "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez with its large number of characters where the "Aurelianos" abounded.
Creo que es una crítica social, sobre todo a las personas de estrato económico elevado que sin llegar a ser ricos pertenecen a la clase media alta y miran a los demás con desprecio juzgándolos por las apariencias. Tan solo basta con que muera Barry (el personaje principal de la trama en el primer capítulo) para que algunos personajes saquen lo peor de sí, tratando de escalar en la sociedad a base de mentiras e hipocresía con tal de obtener el puesto que antes ocupaba él en el consejo parroquial, lo que nos hace entender obviamente que la imagen de «pueblo maravilloso» que tiene Pagford no es más que eso, solo una visión utópica que los habitantes se han encargado de sustentar para aparentar perfección.
I think it's a social criticism, especially of people from a high economic stratum who, without being rich, belong to the upper middle class and look down on others, judging them by their appearances. All it takes is the death of Barry (the main character of the plot in the first episode) for some characters to bring out the worst in themselves, trying to climb the social ladder by means of lies and hypocrisy in order to obtain the position he used to occupy in the parish council, This obviously makes us understand that Pagford's image of a "wonder town" is just that, a utopian vision that the inhabitants have managed to sustain in order to appear perfect.
Me encanta la narración de J.K Rowling porque es dinámica y no te permite aburrirte, si bien, como dije, al principio del libro sientes que la trama va un poco lenta. Otra de las cosas que me gusta de ella es que no se quedó estancada en un solo genero literario (fantasía por ejemplo) sino que decidió explorar y probar suerte con otro tipo de historias y eso no lo hacen todos los escritores.
I love J.K Rowling's storytelling because it's dynamic and she doesn't let you get bored, although, as I said, at the beginning of the book you feel that the plot is a bit slow. Another thing I like about her is that she didn't stay stuck in one literary genre (fantasy for example) but decided to explore and try her luck with other types of stories and not all writers do that.
Amigos muchas gracias por llegar hasta aquí, esto ha sido todo por hoy, gracias por su atención y por su apoyo, de verdad les recomiendo esta joya literaria porque como les digo, la considero una critica social, donde estamos rodeados de hipocresía y hasta de falsa modestia pero también de personas con buenas intenciones, como dice el dicho bíblico «De todo hay en la viña del Señor»
