Hola amigos hivereanos.
Se ha encimado el miércoles en nuestro calendario semanal. Leía mis apuntes y encontré este texto que gira en torno a ese grande de la poesía española, Federico García Lorca, asesinado por la saña franquista.
Aquí les dejo mi escueto post y mi deseo que tengan un día de paz junto a la creación.

Por si acaso, esta letra muerta
este fierro que fermenta la soledad de árido aprecio
yo también disfruto tu escritura colosal,
y sí, paisanos tuyos te tienen en altura
pero el lastre del odio y la perseverante ignominia
les cuaja en el pecho el intento de hermano de sangre.
Perdóname oh poeta que ate aquí en mi árbol
alguna socorrida hoja de tu mágnus
que el castrense orgullo nunca invada el cetro de tu estigma
perdona esta lúgubre huella de gusano
que en tu seda busca amparo,
saben, y recuerdo, que también el mismo necrófago
nos comerá la entraña de cal y de finas sedas
Perdóname poeta, desde mi tremor de humildad y pino
estiro la copa de madera: Salud maestro!

Wednesday has arrived on our weekly calendar. As I was going through my notes, I came across this reflection on the great Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, murdered by Franco’s regime.
Here’s my brief post—and my wish that your day be filled with peace and surrounded by creativity.

Forgive me, Federico,
living poet, in case these lifeless letters, this iron that ferments the loneliness of arid admiration, fail to honor you. I too am moved by your colossal writing, and yes, your countrymen revere you— but the burden of hatred and enduring ignominy still curdles in their hearts the gesture of a blood brother.
Forgive me, oh poet, for tying to my tree some helpful leaf from your magnus. May no military pride ever stain the scepter of your stigma. Forgive this gloomy trace of worm that seeks shelter in your silk.
They know, and I remember, the same scavenger will feast on our entrails of lime and fine silk. Forgive me, poet— from my trembling humility and pine, I raise my wooden cup: Cheers, master!
