Roberto estaba seguro que la lluvia de nubes comenzó un 27 de septiembre, porque él estaba envolviendo el regalo para su novia que cumplía años ese día y la cinta adhesiva se le cayó. Fue al inclinarse a recogerla cuando vio que por debajo de la puerta estaba entrando lo que creyó que era un humo blanco.
Casilda sostenía que la lluvia de nubes había caído en diciembre, entre el 12 y el 14, que eran las fechas en que se acostumbraba poner el pesebre en su casa y justamente llevaba en brazos la caja con los adornos.
Jerónimo no entraba en discusiones por la fecha, pero mostraba con orgullo las fotos que había tomado cuando las nubes apenas comenzaban a desprenderse del cielo. Eran la prueba de que había sido una lluvia de nubes y no simple neblina.

El dolor articular de los artríticos alcanzó altos niveles como consecuencia de la humedad.
Fueron suspendidas las clases en el Preescolar y también en la Escuela Unitaria.
Los religiosos se afanaban en demostrar que era un señal del fin del mundo, y el texto bíblico que hablaba acerca de "señales en los cielos" fue leído, releído y memorizado por todo Turisupi.
La Sra. Cirila daba fe de que la inundación había desaparecido el 3 de marzo porque ese día estaba de cumpleaños pero no hubo picada de torta porque el protagonismo del día se centró en las desaparecidas nubes y el jolgorio de los turisipianos fue tal que se decretaron tres días de asueto.
Jerónimo fue el encargado, a partir de ese momento, de vigilar los cirros, labor que se tomó muy en serio y diariamente subía al cerro de Los Chivos, libreta en mano, a observar detalladamente y tomar nota de cualquier variación de las nubes.
