Me parece que he visto
Me parece que he visto a una niña tropezar;
Me parece que el llanto se me asomó a mí, a mis ojos;
que se levanta como algo normal;
que se llena de heridas, de experiencias,
que se hace una mujer con sueños y equilibrios;
Me parece tan tierno ver caer a esa niña

It seems to me that I have seen
I think I saw a little girl stumble;
she gets up and smiles because no one is watching her.
If her mother had been nearby, the child might have been crying.
It seems to me that the crying came to me, to my eyes;
but mom isn't there either, so I smile, get up...
and go my way as the child went hers.
Now it seems to me that I see her growing up,
that she gets up as a normal thing;
that she fills herself with wounds, with experiences,
that she becomes a woman with dreams and balances;
even if they put a tightrope in front of her.
It seems so tender to me to see that little girl fall down
and to know that it was me, that now I remember her,
without the pain of then, with the love of now
and with the clarity to know that time remains
in those falls that help us grow.
